Swansea v Charlton - Match Thread

  • Players have certainly looked more comfortable playing with four at the back rather than the typical wing-backs we've seen of late

Bit ironic though that I see Solly as the better Right-Back yet he and Matthews have played in the reverse formations effectively

Unfortunately; Dempsey has looked the weak link but have been impressed with Davison and Purrington as our outfield players too

A bit of luck, a bit of better judgement from Lockyer (when he headed @ Woodman) and we could be back in this

Only fear is the fact that Swansea can really get themselves through the gears if they need to, whilst we dont have many options from the bench

At the game. Truthfully should be 3 or 4-1 as I am told should've had a penalty.

But they are clearly less tired, more experienced and a more expensive side. Hell, Baston alone cost £15m.

Dempsey is anonymous because he doesn't seem familiar with the shape. We are generally too narrow, while Pratley is pulled out of position constantly as a result. Gallagher has been marked superbly. Davison is doing well up top but doesn't look like a goalscorer, while my Swansea mates really rate Taylor.

But we got Roland out so I don't care at the minute! Glad to be at the first post-Roland game. I love this football club.

I’d turn over to watch the Derby game but the commentators are probably blowing themselves silly over Rooney

To clarify, they've missed at least two gilt edged chances, hence what the score should be. But yeah.

Everybody surely realises if we had Cullen, Chuks, Bonne, Field, the new signing, Foster-Caskey, Page etc it wouldn't be THIS dire?!

The new owners are only going to sanction three, maybe four at the most permanent and loan buys this transfer window with all.the above returning before the end of the season?!

If Ledley isn’t seen as worthy of half hour at this stage when in Wales then I see zero point in having him with us

Who should have had a penalty? - Us?

Only case I can remember was when Purrington drove into the area (player had hold of his arm) and slide in to send it out for a corner

In the replay, I am certain he didn't get the ball.
  • The difference between Pearce and Sarr writ large - every time Lockyer or Matthews gives it to Pearce, he goes back. Naby would be looking to pass forward. Lots of awful faffing around at the back, we would have no complaints with being 3 or 4 down. We could still get something here but need more composure. And to take our chances.

Swansea have 5 premier league players in their team. Let’s see what team starts against WBA in the league next week.

Wouldnt need to see it again but looking from behind the goal I thought he did

Did question whether the foul should have been given for holding him before sliding in as surely had there been no contact then the Swansea player may not have been able to make the tackle in the first place!!

    Taylor for Doughty...

That's me accepting a draw. Now fairly sure we're under orders to not over play Taylor.

Pratley is awful at heading in the middle of the park.
