As alluded to by a poster above. Clearly a proper 3 year contract as opposed to a 5 year rolling one which protects Lee far better. Let’s all enjoy tonight whatever the result and then sit back and panic for 10 days that we haven’t bought x, y and z in time for Barnsley game!
I would guess one or two permanent signings plus a loan or two to be announced very soon, maybe by the end of the week.
I'm sure that's the plan. MS will want to go into the fan meeting on a high. Bower signing is part one of that, if he can get a signing or two in as well then the meeting will be very different to how it possibly looked yesterday
Outsiders always think there are better jobs than Charlton, and, in terms of prestige, there are, but most people don't realize how big a club we are and that, at its best, the place has something special about it that keeps people who buy into it coming back for more. Bowyer 'gets' Charlton and we 'get' him, and that is worth something to him. If he keeps achieving here, I'm sure at some point he'll want a shot at a job with a genuinely big club that can challenge for major honours, but in the meantime he's looking at mid to upper ranking Championship teams who might be better placed short term but have similar long term potential to us. Why abandon what he started and walk away from all the good will he has here to a team that we very might well be ahead of in 12 months time with some canny investment? If towards the end of this 3 year contract the club is stagnating again, then that might be the time for him to move on but right now I think it makes perfect sense for him to reserve his seat on the bus.

The best manager we have had for a long long time.
Hopefully MS will stop spouting stuff in public that either is out of his control or not true. Maybe just a bit of over enthusiasm, I hope so.
