Love it... Still think the Sheikh is involved and this window was to throw other clubs off the scent
I suspect that if the Sheikh/ADBD aren't yet involved there is some kind of plan to get them involved at some point.
Why else would some ADBD guys also Come to the Barnsley game and be at the Club meal out and the photo with them on his insta at the 02 where he called them Charlton directors.
IF they are involved in any way - even just as advisers then for me that can only be a good thing.

I agree. Personally I think we will be run sensibly for a couple of years and then there could be some spending power when necessary.
I suspect the Sheikh isn't involved, but there will be some access to sponsorship etc from his companies.

That can't be true. It will become obvious we have money when word gets round on players we bid for etc in the summer.
I'm not saying he's not involved, but everyone around football will know exactly how much we are willing to spend in the summer.
Bloody risk aswell if we end up going down!
This! January wasn't a ploy to disguise wealth imo. I suspect there will be money to spend but a decision was made to do just enough in January and then reshape the squad in the summer when there is better value to be found. This ties in with the noises around sustainability but also suggests we won't be throwing millions at it anytime soon. Perhaps that will change if and when we show progress and a genuine chance of competing for top six.
The hope for now is that we have enough to stay up and then the summer should be about giving us a platform for a top half finish next season. Incremental progress is my expectation rather than a big bang approach.
Two things stand out for me in that picture - the lad fifth from the right with the Joker make-up and the one in front of him with the comedy spare arm on his shoulder.
Thats Sam Field (?) and Jonny Williams respectfully; Jonny has his arm over Solly's shoulder
Is the first time anyone from the new regime has specifcally said they are aiming for the premier league within a certain timeline? I know MS has been reluctant to flat out say anything like "we want to be in the premier within x years/seasons"

Yes I really do believe that MS has been calm about this and the guys from Abu Dhabi have come over seen how great the club can be and have basically said "Lets Get This Done" Once we stay up momentum is everything.
He does oversee the running of 60 other companies, but our football club will be completely unique to him. I think he's just as excited by this as Southall and he and his associates will be very adamant that this venture succeeds. Buzzing to see what happens in the summer.
Having listened to this several times, I think Nimer may be referring to the 2-year time-frame already laid out for the training ground & Cat.1 academy status, with the aim of premier league within the 5-year plan.
This seems to me to be ambitious but realistic, in line with what has already been said, and would be music to my ears. It would give time to gradually build a Premier quality team from a combination of the best of our academy products together with some judicious purchases, without having to go mad with the spending. When we go up, we want to stay up, not go straight back down the following season!
Personally, I just look forward in the short term to confirmation that the freeholds have passed from RD to ESI. Without that, building work is not going to start at Sparrows Lane this summer, and the timetable will be out of the window!

you can see he’s excited to be part of Charlton and obviously excited at his own plans for the club!

This is the video of Nimer. Not Rick Astley:)
