What a wonderful gent, and the cherished moments he gave his family and all us folk, RIP Tom you really will live in the memories of millions of people way past our lifetimes.
It seemed almost inevitable when he went into hospital with Covid. A truly inspirational man and worthy of all the praise heaped upon him. The BBC stopped their normal programmes to announce it and the statement by his family was worthy of him.
The Iconic figure in this battle against the Virus in the UK.
He reached 100 and raised his bat to the pavilion, which was a great achievement when you consider he was born in 1920, lived through WW2 when the average life span was 60 for men born around that time.
I feel he represents all of the people of that generation, including all the young men and women who perished in WW2.
