Best three, consecutive albums

Prompted by @golfaddick and his nomination on another thread of Revolver, Rubber Soul and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, I wonder if Lifers have their own favourite list of three consecutive albums by one act or band.

  • Beggars Banquet
    Let it Bleed
    Sticky Fingers
    (Exile on Main St)
  • Ash - 1977, Nu-Clear Sounds, Free All Angels. I'd say Ash were more of a singles band, but plenty of quality throughout these albums, even if the middle one is underrated
  • Stevie Wonder:

    Music of my Mind
    Talking Book
    Innervisions

Possibly he's made better albums, but we are talking three in a row, and these are fantastic
  • The Kinks: -
    Face to Face
    Something Else
    Village Green Preservation Society
  • Santana
    Abraxas
    Santana lll

    Little Feat
    Sailin' Shoes
    Dixie Chicken

  • Silent Alarm, A Weekend in the City, Intimacy
  • Sponsored links:

  • Can't Buy A Thrill
    Countdown to Ecstasy
    Pretzel Logic
  • Bruce Springsteen

    Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle
    Born to Run
  • Ride the Lightning
    Master of Puppets
    And Justice for All

As a bonus, Metallica's following Black album was immense as well but they then lost their way imho
  • Sigur Ros:

    Takk
Med sud i eyrum vid spilum endalaust
    Valtari

That's proper mid-season form. All outstanding albums.
  • Bad Company
    Straight Shooter
    Run With the Pack
  • not easy as always with musical questions. so I'm going to cheat as I cannot choose between the below:

    Pogues
    Red Roses for  Me
    Rum Sodomy & The Lash
If I Should Fall From Grace With God

    Cranberries
Everybody Else is Doing it, So Why Can't We?
    No Need to Argue
    To the Faithful Departed

    Suede
    Suede
    Dog Man Star
    Coming Up

Great choice. Variation on a great Springsteen theme, my favourite three consecutively would be:

    Born To Run
Darkness On The Edge Of Town
    The River

  • 10cc
    Sheet music
    The original soundtrack....

All three Springsteen trios posted are valid, I think.

In conclusion, it would appear that the Boss really is the boss.
