Led Zep, Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Tool, JM Jarre have all been covered earlier in the thread - no complaints there.
Opeth:
Orchid Morningrise My Arms, Your Hearse Still Life Blackwater Park
(Yes, I'm well aware that's five albums - just take any consecutive three!)
If Still Life and Blackwater Park had been followed immediately by Damnation then that'd be a great answer for me - but unfortunately Deliverance got in the way
Plenty of bang for your buck, you can't level the songs not meaning anything or making sense because none of Noel Gallaghers music does, and I bet he would tell you that as well whereas Springsteen's is charged and has a narrative.
The Be Here Now tracks that, off the top of my head, stand the test of time and would be enormous if released today
I hope, I think, I know The Girl in the dirty shirt Stand by me Dont Go Away All around the world Fade in/out Its Gettin Better Man
I've heard Noel Gallagher talk about the album before in interviews and his main gripe is that it was written at a pretty unhappy time of his life and it was over produced. The songs are long and complex arrangements and it doesn't sound as raw as the first two but they released those two in such quick succession they kept the same sound whereas the third album is a world away from what's the story.
Say what you will about Noel Gallagher he knows how to write a chorus
I hear ya @bobmunro we normally agree but I'm standing my ground on this one, we can argue the toss when Lew Smith fights Ritson for the world title in London and we are there to see it ;-)
Be Here Now is a great album mate. Me and 2 of my closest mates found ourselves single at the same time and went on a last lads holiday to Tenerife just after it was released. Played it to death in the apartment and requested songs from it countless times in the club at veronicas.
Beautiful Freak Electro Shock Blues Daisies of the Galaxy
Thought about Eels, but I would go: Souljacker Shootenanny Blinking Lights
I was so tempted by these three especially as i love shootenanny and blinking lights but i went for the three that meant so much to me when i was young.
This is a good thread. These sometimes descend into people listing the most obscure record in their collections but that hasn’t happened so far and there is some really good and familiar stuff coming up.

Although I have some personal favourites, I can't think of three better consecutive albums than Bowies; Hunky Dory Ziggy Stardust Aladdin Sane Probably my 3 favorite bowie albums in that order

I think you mean ‘that they can google’
this is always something i wondered about with the young generation. i have all the records that i have listed on this thread but i imagine that nowadays most just have it streaming. apart from my own era and NME/The Fly for anything. a bit older i just use to rely on my dads record collection and my girlfriends parents collection. now its so much easier to find these bands and to know if you like it or not.
