Just read the match thread from start to finish and had to double check that we actually won. We've certainly got some proper miserable fans.
I was expecting us to get trounced every game with our threadbare squad and bits of kid making up the numbers with the embargo. Was over the moon to see us winning, win and sit second in the league at 5pm after fearing the worst.
Think people need to calibrate expectations otherwise they are in for a very disappointing and frustrating 9 months.
We are a club with potential but we are where we are and certainly don't have any right to take points of these clubs no matter what some may regard in terms of stature comparisons.....99% of the clubs in this league will be far less basket- casey than us and likely have more settled management, strategy and resources at their disposal to assist this term's campaign....certainly at least until a TS takeover is complete (and on the proviso that the subsequent actions meet the hype and promises that has had us all going doolally).
Epic result today all things considered and will take survival in this league as a key priority on the pitch this year and some much needed stability off it as an absolute result of a season.
I understand the logic of not playing a kid at CB, as it's much harder there defensively than at RB, but it's a tough ask to expect someone that young to play out of position
Well pleased 3pts in the bag away from home, never easy against newly promoted teams. Clean sheet with a patched together defence, hopefully we can get a couple of CB's through the door soon.
Sunderland had 70% of the game against Bristol R and still dropped points and a red card for their efforts.
Pompey held at home to Shrewsbury, Oxford & Posh lost. Apart from Hull winning at Gills its been better than expected.
Just need Tom to get over the line with a takeover, add the players LB has lined up and it could be a great season.

First 15 minutes aside where I thought he looked a little lost he was virtually as assured at right back as centre back. Gonna be some player and fingers crossed with TS we won't have to sell him early for peanuts.
Happy enough with that result. Reckon Washington is going to cause defenders more than a few problems this season, delighted with Barker and special mention in despatches for Pratley, Gilbert and Purrington. Also, Amos' distribution was far better than Phillips'.
Been at work and haven’t seen any of the game so can’t comment on the performance but yep, certainly happy with that start to the season. Fingers crossed the takeover happens sharpish and we can bring in the players we need to really push to get out of this shitty league.
League One is all about results, have always felt like the general standard of players means it's hard for one team to really dominate a game. Hopefully that gives us a big boost and we can build some momentum (fingers crossed with reinforcements before the next league game).
