I thought Vennings did well for 20 minutes or so but faded. Being charitable two games in a week at this level as an inexperienced, physically small player may be too much at this stage of his development.
How do we make it look so difficult to get anywhere near the opponent's final third. Sunderland can play simple passes, no quality required, and quickly they're in a position to cross, or have runners going into the box for a quick pass... We make it look like we're playing in treacle to even get out of our own half. It is dreadful and it's been like this for ages.
We’ve slowly morphed into the kind of team we were under Robinson. Far too much slow and sideways/backwards passing. At our best under Bowyer we’ve always had a change in pace in attack. Right now we are very very pedestrian, both of foot and thinking.
