Is out of Contract in the summer too... Worth a cheeky bid in January so Luton get something rather than nothing?
Would free up his loan spot for someone else instantly3

Would we want him in the Champ though? Not sure I'd be bidding in January, give him a few months and see how he gets on.0

I think we’d love to, but believe Luton are paying the majority of his wages and how that would impact our wage cap is the big question.ForeverAddickted said:https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/andrew-shinnie-on-factors-behind-his-loan-switch-from-luton-town-to-charlton-athletic-and-excitement-at-fans-returning-to-the-valley/

Maybe Luton would pay a percentage of his contract up. If the loan is renewed they will be paying it anyway.Sage said:

At 31 he would be interested in a contract for next season and would probably accept a lesser salary.2

The other side of the coin is Luton get relegated and will want to keep him for League 1.1

Doesn't need to be renewed, he's here for the season. Although I agree, if they are paying say 3k a week for 20 weeks which is 60k, would make more sense for them to give him 40k and let him come permanently.Richard J said:

Good interview, impressive that he's so keen on playing0

Classy player and bloke it seems.0

Also by taking the 50% cut in wages when joining Luton, it appears that he is more interested in playing than the best financial offer.cafcfan1990 said:

Not hearing much about his injury. Hope he is back soon or is this another longer term one?0

Also came here to find information on his injury situation, it's gone silent.
 That's usually not a good sign.0

Waiting for “it doesn’t look good”0

He's been gone around 2.5 weeks so far, for those more clued up than me whats the usual time for people with a tight thigh?0

It's the usual minor strain that gets Charltonised so that the player eventually ends up being put down by the vet...KettsJohn said:Not hearing much about his injury. Hope he is back soon or is this another longer term one?17

Gilbey has been disappointing so far. Though he left Maatsen very exposed today.3

Not far off a return maybe?

If he's doing upper body work to keep fit, I'd say he's still some time away.0

Power in boxing work comes from your legs, through your core and only the final push comes from the upper.mendonca said:If he's doing upper body work to keep fit, I'd say he's still some time away.
If he's doing boxing he's in a good place, but impossible to say how soon he is to return.6
