Bowyer won't intend to put out a side so young/inexperienced that it gets badly beaten.sam3110 said:I'd play the kids and fringe players mostly, give game time to Wiredu, AMB, Levitt, Smyth, Maddison and a couple more under 23's.
Fuck the Cup, we need to get out of this league pronto
That destroys confidence and sets back young players.
It'll be a competitive side, you bet ...... just some key players rested.

Very different comments to what Bowyer has been sayingMattF said:Sounds like we'll be seeing a reasonably unchanged Plymouth side
Yes we have different circumstances with many players arriving late after no proper pre-season training, and this season is more compressed, but we do seem to have had a number of rather fragile players in recent years. I think back to 2011/12, and don't recall a great deal of squad rotation, we had the players who could cope with 2 games a week0 -
This is literally the worst season for a cup run. Imagine if we did get to the 5th or 6th round and drew Man U at home and no one could go. Not to mention our awful injury record, if we picked up one or two big injuries in a cup game it could derail our league campaign.
Its a free game to get fringe players minutes and fitness, I wont be bothered if we lose.7 -
You mean like the League Cup when we got West Ham away in the second round?CAFCTrev said:This is literally the worst season for a cup run. Apart from fitness levels and some game time I have zero interest in this match. We need all our key players fit and firing for the league. We must prioritise our promotion at all costs. Use this as a training game as far as I’m concerned.2

“Even though we’ve made a lot of changes from Tuesday, the 11 that is going out there, I expect them to win and I want them to win. "
I guess when we see the side we'll be able to judge that for ourselves!0 -
Just going to sit back, enjoy and hope we don’t pick up any injuries. Give my nerves a rest for the week.3

Gonna do the same but bet we'll go into the 80th minute with a 1-0 lead and I'll still be shitting myself over us concedingBFG94 said:Just going to sit back, enjoy and hope we don’t pick up any injuries. Give my nerves a rest for the week.1 -

I love the FA Cup but with no fans this season, I don't care.
Just play a completely different strategy and formation to that to be used for the league match.0 -
Any reason why we’re one of the only clubs in the football league without a poppy on our profile picture on Twitter? @Ollywozere0

Well I am still up for the cup and would want us to progress. I do not mind who he plays but winning becomes a habit. No doubt Plymouth have no injuries and will play a full strength team. But I still feel we will win, 1-0 to the Addicks.

Maynard-Brewer
Matthews | Inniss | Pratley | Purrington
Morgan | Levitt | Forster-Caskey
Maddison
Smyth | Bogle
Agree totally with FA's preview team.
No way will Lee Bowyer agree; It's looks too strong.
Could be important for the youngsters, Morgan to carry on the good form from Tuesday, Levitt to show why his parent club is Man utd, and Maynard-Brewer to show he's a good young keeper and worthy number 2 who can play League matches if Amos is injured.
I want the mentality that who ever gets picked desperately wants to win.

I'd be surprised if we see Smyth and Bogle, except perhaps from the bench.
Reading what Bow says, they would be high risk:
“We’ve got a few people who are feeling little things here or there. We’re going to have to look after them for the next two weeks and make sure they are okay for Gillingham. We won’t risk anyone.
“Omar [Bogle] is a bit stiff, a bit tight, and little [Paul] Smyth is the same. That’s from the last few games.”

I don't think Prats will start either, as he's played a lot of football so far. But I'm guessing Watson will be involved, he needs some minutes and the team needs a skipper.

Just avoid injuries and yellow cards.
Pratley should be wrapped in cotton wool and I'd rest our internationals too (except Levitt if permitted to play for us) as they will be playing at least once for their countries between tomorrow and 21 November. If Maddison is still alive and able to walk he needs an outing. I'd give Maynard - Brewer a start and promising youngsters like Henry, Vennings and Barker too. Albie could probably do with another outing at senior level as he hasn't had much football and can rest next week. I'd also play any of Pearce, Oshilaja, Gilbey etc that might be close to recovery.1 -
Knowing our luck, this will be the season we piss the league, but wouldnt have been able to attend any games at all & then not be able to watch us win the FA Cup final against one of the top 4 (or Millwall/Palace) & to top it all not be able see the team parade abouts on the open top bus...but it is what it is...!!
2-1 Maddison & JFC

shame its a reserve match this afternoon rather than a proper game but given the lockdown i'll probably still watch it - just hope maddison plays, looking forward to seeing the maverick in action0

Many changes and a bit of a struggle but 2-1. And a visit to the next round.0

I think Bowyer has to field a stronger team today than some are suggesting. Not for "winning" reasons but logistics and maths.
Playing a team of those needing minutes and u23s today might mean he has to use more 1st team players on Tuesday. Also, bizarrely we have a u23 game Monday lunch time and an u18 game today.
I would suggest today will see a few rested but it will be far from an u23 team. Maybe a couple and a few on the bench?1 -
I thought rules for the crap cup on Tuesday meant Bowyer has to play a certain amount of first team. Has that rule now changed and we can play anyone we like?Cafc43v3r said:I think Bowyer has to field a stronger team today than some are suggesting. Not for "winning" reasons but logistics and maths.

Argyle Life asked me to answer a few questions ahead of today’s game. For a different perspective, I’ve attached a link to their site and what’s happening at their club at the moment, including the answers I gave too.
