I am seriously tempted to use my VPN and watch it for Terry and Greg's commentary, which I enjoy a lot. Is that naughty? It gives the club money.
Which country will you watch from?

I think you can from a few countries that are listed.
I have tried all those listed countries in the past and none of them worked.
What VPN are you using, the club may be blocking your VPN provider
Would the club have the tech know-how, let alone the inclination to do that, given that they would be denying themselves a revenue stream?

Come to think of it, from certain cryptic comments I have heard in the past on the commentary, I am 99% sure this is NOT what's going on, because a lot of people are clearly using this route.

Yeah I never had an issue with my VPN, but some cheap ones don't really mask at all well.
  • The list says Valley Pass will not be available in Portugal, the EFL in reply to an e-mail told me this:

Our overseas broadcast partners i.e. Eleven Sport will only purchase rights for particular matches and will never have the rights to all Championship or League One matches. You can view the international TV picks on our website at: https://www.efl.com/clubs-and-competitions/tv-games/international-games/.

If Eleven Sport have the rights to a particular Championship match then this will not affect your viewing on Valley Pass of Charlton’s match. The only matches affected on iFollow (or Club equivalent service) overseas are the specific matches where the rights have been purchased overseas.

Eleven Sport are not showing any UK game on Friday night, so why is Valley Pass not available?

I have alternatives to watch, so it is not a big deal, but it is so confusing...

Portugal isn't on the list on the club website.
Europe: Albania, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, San Marino, Ukraine, Vatican City

Indeed - but as you can see, it should be according to the EFL. (Yeah - I know...).

I have e-mailed the club and the EFL asking both who is right.
  • I've signed up to the Sky pass this evening. Not that I would ever consider using a VPN, but if i had been mine wouldnt have worked...

Bit of good news for the Gaza Strip Supporters Group, that'll be a bit of light relief from the ever present threat of terrorist attack or shelling from Israel.
I've heard they'd take the threats rather than watch Charlton ;)

"Oh for goodness sake, we're 1-0 down and he's taken Maddison off and brought on Purrington again. I'm going outside to see if I can trigger an IED".

  • FFS, Seth was right, my useless VPN - Surfshark - can't get in, and of course I have already paid. Good job it's Thomas's Charlton that has the money. I'm counting on my neighbour to find me an illegal stream. If anyone else is going down that route please post the link, I will do the same.

What a pathetic palava. I mean there's as much chance of any Czechs deciding to watch Charlton v Accrington as there is anyone in the Gaza Strip.
  • I am watching through now tv on my smart tv as a one off thing.
I use nord vpn but it has never been a success in similar (i.e. a sky game) situation in the past. None of the 'obscure' countries listed by the club have ever worked for me. Not the Netherlands, or Hungary or Cyprus or any of the loads of others I tried before.
I would end up paying the club, but then be casting around for a moody stream or rabbit.
A few times bitten before i decided to do it differently this time.
Guys, if you find a country on the list released by the club, post it here.

NowTV for those who don’t have Sky, you can stream to a laptop, Smart TV or steaming box
I went into NowTV but I can only give UK or Channel Islands as my address, little use if I'm in Switzerland. How the fuck are they working this today. I can't have it via CAFC or SkySports even paying them a tenner.  Guess it's the radio... tossers!

I used to use Surfeasy and have never had a problem, though I don't use it anymore.

  • OK, what happens when you have purchased a Valley Pass, redeemed your code ahead of time to make sure it works, then get a message saying "This content is only available in certain countries"?

Like me, you are f***ed, so you have to hope that an illegal stream, such as the one posted by a kindly Spanner above, works for you.

Truly, what a time to be alive....

That's crazy! The club sold me the pass, sent me a code to use....
  • It seems clear to me that the EFL still control the stream, even if the club site collects the money. Of course. The one thing they manage to do properly is to stop paying fans from watching their teams.

    ****s!
  • Anyone tried Ukraine, used to be my safety net on VPN...

If not, others that have worked when others wouldn't were Hong Kong, South Africa and Poland.

I'm getting that too. I just wanted to watch the list of names being read out for the memorial which I was assuming would be broadcast in full on Valley Pass. I can watch it on sky so will have to stick wit that now. £7 lighter!

The original post says 2020/21 season-tickets holders who choose to, can use CAFC Cash to access the game live on Valley Pass..

    That's what I did - now I can't get access...?????????????
  • I used to regrettably write the money off. It was £6 then.
  • Phew, working now!

    Think they're season ticket holders.
