    its very simple:

    amos

    purrington
    gunter
    oshala
    matthews

    maarsen
    jfc
    williams
    millar

    aneke
    schwarz
I do like that the only issue is being overrun centre midfield
that is the obvious concern, yes, but we don't have an athlete / ball winner to play in the middle, i want my best midfield player (williams in the middle to create) and i want the pace and threat and legs out wide and that threat up top - all that outweighs that concern for me and by far outweighs the idea of negating an attacking threat by packing the midfield with slightly more able tacklers. purrington and matthews will also provide good cover sweeping across the back line.
  • We need Oshilaja not to cock up again and Williams to put in a shift if we are to have any chance today. You know my thoughts in Oshilaja. Not a fan and don’t trust him. We badly need something today.

Been our best defender for the only games he has started.
Agree, although the bar has been pretty low!
  • Oshilaja has Sarr's worst qualities without the passing ability. He does seem to have a mistake in him as does Pearce at present and we desperately need to avoid this today.

I imagine Bristol Rovers will push for an early goal having seen our recent performances.
  • Just wish Oshi would just smack the ball up the pitch when he has it in his own area.He defends well but when in possession is an accident waiting to happen .Between Aneke,Ronnie, and yes Bogle their is something to aim at.Stick to clearing our lines and we can win this.
  • 2-3 to the Addicks, Schwartz double and a late Chuks winner
  • Would be great if we could keep a clean sheet.
  • If Bogle dies start it will be really interesting to see if there is any discernible difference in his performance after being a real (and understandable) target of frustration after his last game against Accrington.
  • Keep changing my mind about the possible result. Guess I'll just have to wait until LB announces his team, then it will be "ffs, I've wasted a tenner" or "great, he's going for it". Fingers crossed it's the latter.

  • They will look to press high up and put pressure on our makeshift defense and midfield that lacks a bit of bite. To combat that we need to do something to keep them worried and push them back. For that reason I would give Aneke and Ronnie half each. I know they're different players and would work better together but they will both give the defense more to worry about than our other options.

    Amos
    Matthews Gunter Deji Maatsen
    Morgan Henry JFC Millar
    Washington Aneke

It’s noticeable that the other teams we’ve played recently have been strictly safety first in defence - none of this faffing about that we do which so often gets us into trouble.

An exception to this were Rochdale with their keeper moving bizarrely out of his goal and we really should have pushed harder when they were doing this as it might have led to a goal.
  • Aneke will not start
  • I'd be disappointed if Aneke doesn't start, if he's fit play him. We need to win games
  • I spotted 4 pheasants this morning. A sure sign of a 4 nil win.

we could have played Oshilaja and got another centre back in 3 games ago and had a proper line up of players in position for the last 3 games and today.  Why did that not happen, because LB didn’t want it to. Another defeat today would show that to have been a massive mistake.......

I fear the worst, this team has forgotten how to win, and yes get a draw Tuesday was more than expected at half time. BUT.. we still drew at home to a relegation threatened team. WHICH IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

  • with it being 71-games since we won from 1-0 down
That's an appalling stat given we seem incapable of keeping clean sheets consistently. Never imagined our record of coming from behind was as horrific as that! Whoever we are playing will know they only have to get their noses in front, park the bus and worse case scenario is a point.

On that basis I'm going 2-1 to them with a late winner, more pressure on LB and a meltdown on here.

Its also a bit misleading as there will have been 24-wins since that game, 4-games where we've drawn 0-0, 5-games where we've drawn yet have scored first... So in reality its 38-games where the opposition have taken the lead and we've not come from behind to win, still not great though

(I've only included the League games in that count, so Play-Offs | FA Cup | League Cup | EFL Trophy have been ignored)

Surely our defence won’t concede 4 goals twice in a week?

  • We don't ever seem to play well in the first half but if we can keep within one goal at the break we've got a shout.
  • Heady times at Charlton where a draw at 18th placed Bristol Rovers will be considered a decent result , shithouse
  • I'd be disappointed if Aneke doesn't start, if he's fit play him. We need to win games
I think in an ideal world we all would love him to start every game but for the last year / 18 months bowyer has constantly said how its a balancing act with his fitness and being careful he doesnt brake down

so i doubt we ever will see him starting and finishing 90 mins every game
  • Hope the weather is nicer in Bristol than it is in Medway today

Chucking it down at the moment... Rovers are turning into the new Yeovil where it always seems to be shit weather when we play there

Spot on. There’s a big difference between Bowyer wanting to start Aneke every game and being able to. You can certainly see the reasons for trepidation considering our horrific injury record over the last few years.

It’s just a bloody shame as Tuesday proved what Aneke can do with 90 minutes on the pitch, was absolutely delighted to see him on the scoresheet twice at last.

I shiver just thinking of that day in Yeovil! Took 3 of my mates (2 don’t like football) down there to celebrate my birthday, they’ve still never forgiven me and bring it up every time we meet.

Haha me and my mate are the opposite we still reminise about that day.

Still remember sitting in the pub all morning after walking down from the B&B we'd been staying at - We were both completely ignorant of the weather until we stepped outside to wait for the taxi to take us to the Ground - Loved that game!!
  • Chuks and Schwartz won't start, Gilbey will.

1-0 Rovers until we bring on some quality, finish 2-1 to us.

It felt like 30 degrees and sunny when we smashed them there on a Tuesday night a couple of years ago - may have been the score line  that made it feel so tropical though!
