Grace is just 17. I believe that Seb used to play tennis against her brother in Kent competitions when they were both around the age of 10. He now plays for Leeds & Bromfield CC 1s - clearly they are a talented sporting family

Kent, despite adding Gilchrist and O'Riordan to the X1 that lost against Lancs, have elected to keep the same side against Glamorgan.

This is a game that we need to win although the sight of "M Labuschagne" in their side, plus a certain Root (Billy not Joe) and James Harris (who was on loan with us a few seasons ago but is now on a two week loan back to his home county from Middlesex) does somewhat temper any confidence in that respect.

Glamorgan have won the toss and elected to put us in

The strip is so far over one side that the boundary on the short side is barely the minimum requirement of 50 metres

Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne will make his first appearance for Glamorgan since 2019 in the Championship match against Kent in Cardiff, just two days after arriving.
Labuschagne has moved up to number three in the world Test batting rankings since his last county stint.
"It's something you've got to get used to, travel and play, and it's exciting to be back," he said.
Labuschagne has been cleared to play under Welsh Government guidance.
As well as his Covid checks, he must only leave his flat to visit the stadium - while Derbyshire's Australian paceman Billy Stanlake is not yet allowed to play under English quarantine regulations.

So we get to face one of the world's best players because Wales has different Covid rules to England!

And Seb, when he goes to Australia in October, has been told that he will have to self isolate for 14 days in a hotel

  • Are our Surrey friends having a long lie in today ?

Can't believe they 're not whooping it up & reminding us that their team is back....:-)

    Denly's scores this season:

    1
    17
    30
    4
    31
    0

    Average 13.83

He is lucky that his place isn't under pressure primarily because we don't have too many options to replace him and that there are others in the side who are struggling as much

Wow, Hampshire have been in great form too

The demon bowler David Lloyd has 2-6 for Glamorgan. Not that one.

Especially as Leaning is having 'mare too. Out for 2 (93 runs in 6 innings including 14 in his last 5) and we have now gone from 88-1 to 93-4!
  • Think I'd better stick to the rain dancing.....

The only consolation for Kent is that Labushagne is currently injured and off the field

Once again the Kent batting disappears like the Charlton midfield against Crewe on Tuesday.
