Luke Wells batting for Lancs now. I hadn't realised that Sussex had released him

16 year old Will Harby is 12th man today and has just come on as sub fielder for Denly. He's in the Kent Academy and has also played in a couple of 2s games recently.

    Another to Stevens

    89-4 off 42

We really have bowled a very good length and line today

They don't call me the "kiss of death" for nothing - Cummins goes for 14 in one over!!!!

Aren't they still waiting for all of their batsmen to come back into the side?

George Ealham (son of Mark and Grandson of Alan) has been playing Surrey 2s. Both George and his younger brother, Tommy, played Kent age group cricket

It's not been a good 24 hours for them - after Sam Curran was hit for 30 in one over by Cummins yesterday

An annoying 5th wicket partnership has taken the score to 179-4 off 64 at tea

    Now 209-6

Nice stumping from the latest on the Kent keeper production line

Stevens currently has the ridiculous bowling figures of 19-10-23-2. Especially as that number of overs and accuracy is being produced by someone who will be 45 next Friday!

    2nd wicket to Cummins

    260-7 at close

    Milnes 21-6-52-1
    Stevens 22-11-35-2
    Klaassen 18-2-54-1
    Cummins 20-3-61-2
    Denly 8-0-31-0
    Leaning 7-2-15-1

If we can finish the job sub 300 then that will be a very decent effort. We won't know how decent it is, of course, 'til we bat but, given that our top run scorer,  Stevens, has been demoted to 8, one would hope that we will secure a meaningful lead.

I'm not confident about our top order given how they've started the season, but not facing Jimmy is a massive bonus!

So much for that hope -  currently 350-7

Perennial Kentish inability to remove the opposition tail.

Those extra runs are likely to cost us dear.

As I mentioned above, he's played in the last two 2nd XI games and returned figures of 0-165. O'Riordan bowled better and was next in line to play had Kuhn failed his fitness test - if he replaced one of the seamers we would have gone from playing 5 in the last game to 3 in this, one of which would have been a 45 year old. So he would have to have come in for one of the batsmen - but which one?

Stevens only bowled 4 overs today and none of the final 64. Perhaps feeling the strain of having bowled 22 overs yesterday?
