Withdrew £1k profit on the first day. Left the rest in to play with. Today I have only £50 left decided to chuck it all on a 20p E/w super Heinz £150k potential. Looking forward to my £3.46 profit 😂
Did you have fun? At least you had a very decent day one. Good luck with the super heinz
Yeah, Cheltenham is a great laugh, I just had a gut feeling black tears was going to win so stuck £100 on it. Very lucky.
@palarsehater is miles ahead of the rest on his predictions, if you put a tenner on every horse he has tipped then you would be £250 up at least.
should have listened on Mrs Milner - had porter though. Let's hope we have a fantastic last day.
Alot of my wins this week, which i normally dont get any have been last minute punts either by me or see half a tip somewhere. Pure fluked to be honest, but i've had an ok week withdrawn and still playing with bits, not as much as you Also on a good footy streak too which helps.
Hope we all get a winner or 2 today, normally resign to losing on the horses so a nice bonus this week. I am not going to post who i am backing as i seem to win when i dont
1;55 Ganapathi, You Raised me up (ew) 2;30 Alaphillipe, Threeunderthrufive 3:05 Royal Pagaille 3:40 Staker Wallace 4;15 Shattered Love, Magic of Light (ew) 4:50 Fire Attack, Eglantine Du Seuil (ew)
Right. Complete blank yesterday; hopefully I can make up for it myself today.
1.20 - Top three in the market dominate this race and Quilixios is shortening massively due to the Blackmore Effect. Not a race I'm particularly interested in. No bet
1.55 - Twenty-six(!) run in the County Hurdle, so again, throw a dart as usual. I think noting the yard likes to peak at The Festival, it is worth siding with Eclair de Beaufeu (0.5pts EW @ 9/1, 1/5 odds 1-6), who is on a fair mark; posted a career-best in last year's Grand Annual; and was fine for sixth last month at Leopardstown. This is a huge race though so looking for value is always the way, and that probably presents itself in Drop The Anchor (0.5pts EW @ 28/1, 1/5 odds 1-6), who has been drifting this morning (worryingly) but is three times the price of Champagne Gold (Blackmore!) who he beat last time. I don't understand that.
2.30 - The Potato Race. The market principals make this a tough race to squeeze value out of but most books are offering four places (Betfair offer five). I'll only have one here though, as Stattler, Fakiera and Torygraph are all too short for my liking. Just about best is Threeunderthrufive (1pt EW @ around 8/1, 1/5 odds 1-4), who is improving plenty for each win and while this is a big step up, I fancy him to have a really really good run. The Cob is interesting at a big price.
3.05 - The Big One. Obviously you can make a case for anything here and A Plus Tard is sure to be a popular bet after Rachael's exploits so far this Festival. But... I mean, I don't think any horse looks like it'd trouble Al Boum Photo (2pts win @ 5/2) particularly after the Irish GC won by Kemboy. That makes APT's Savills Chase form look slightly less good when you consider Kemboy's jumping (and price today), so I'm left with the favourite really. There are some super interesting British contenders, but Champ is the shortest and his jumping is a perennial question mark; Santini is really quirky and has new headgear yet again; while Frodon and Royale Pagaille are both really likeable types but I suspect a Gold Cup is a step too far for the former, and a little too early for the latter. If I were to go each-way here, I'd probably say Native River is your best shout. He jumped for absolute fun last time out, loves a bit of Cheltenham, and will absolutely be primed for a shot at becoming only the second horse to regain the Gold Cup.
3.40 - These are horses I would say not too many of us know too much about, as there are lots coming from the point to point scene as it's a hunters' chase. I probably will have one poke here on Mr Mantilla (0.5pts EW @ 28/1 or so, 1/5 odds 1-4) who has won five point-to-point races for a shrewd stable. He's been a tad cool in the betting but we've seen so many huge priced winners take this recently (It Came To Pass last year; Pacha du Polder twice in a row). You can probably justify any horse in this though!
4.15 - Elimay wins this most likely, and I'll be looking at Magic of Light for Grand National purposes, and also maybe Shattered Love, but otherwise, nothing doing. Colreevy will probably complete a Mullins 1-2 I suspect, as the betting clearly indicates. No bet
4.50 - The final race of the festival and I would think the four at the top of the market probably have it between them. Unimaginatively I'll chance on one of them, Langer Dan (1pt EW @ 15/2, 1/5 1-5, can get 8/1 in places) who won so easily on Saturday and will probably have a huge chance under his penalty - he looked really impressive (even if the field didn't in the Imperial Cup). Another I'll have a stab at is a David Pipe runner. In the race named for his father, he must be desperate to have a winner, and his best chance is Leoncavallo (0.5pts EW @ 22/1, 1/5 1-5), who ran well for a long way in the Cesarewitch on the flat and has presumably been targeted/saved for this. So there we go. Hopefully I make up for yesterday.
