I think that’s a pretty decent point .. Fleetwood are a very good home side and are use to playing in these conditions ... don’t think watching on tv really showed how difficult it was and not just the wind but the pitch as well it was very sticky ...
Defensively we coped very well. we looked a lot better when Purrington come on .. great clearance by Gunter but we kept them at arms length for long periods .... we struggled in mid only because the way the game was played and up front there was very little created for the front men ...
These player marks for Maatsen - why? Just why? He got beaten down the line once, got it nabbed by an offside player once, and missed one header with the ball swirling in the wind. People have given him 3! 2! What the hell? He gave us the impetus to go forward for our goal and also got another cross in, had another cross called back for an earlier offside, and very nearly got in on goal if Millar's pass had been accurate. Why are people saying he was our worst player? He had a non-entity in Shinnie in front of him. Ludicrous
to me he looks like a fish out of water at the moment. Don’t know what but reckon somethings happened. Purrington looked much more solid once he came on.
Maatsen was god damn awful, he’s managed to regress as the seasons gone on.
The one time in the first half he linked up with Millar, we scored. Because Bowyer put Millar on the right. Which was absurd
it should be a good team that looks terrible and yet still gets a point (or three) .. the thing is though, we look nothing like a good team .. decent players playing poorly .. time for Bowyer to go before this season becomes a real disaster
Stockley scored and we only conceded one so there's that
Did you get those fake news stats from Donald Trump? We had at least one corner. Indeed, I seem to remember three, one from our left in the first half, one from each side in the second half toward the end.

You can have a hand in our goal and still be awful, I was a big fan earlier this season but I think he’s got worse.
I can't believe we didn't win that. They were absolute dog shit and we had total domination for most of the game, but luck was certainly on their side. If we keep playing like that, we'll soon start racking up wins. On the negative side, I'm not keen on the white sleeves on our red shirt and I didn't realise that Fleetwood wear grey. Learn something new every day.......................
Well that was abysmal! The diamond doesn’t work, why keep going there, stick to 442, but our midfield are pedestrian at best. Technically our midfield is good enough for league one, but there’s no pace there. The one player we did have to attack players with the ball fell out of favour with LB and is now at Cardiff. So with that in mind, the defence will always be under pressure, and our attack gets no service as we don’t seem to win second balls. And how many times did we get away with this torrid passing out at the back, which is fine if we actually pass intelligently, which we don’t. This is league 1, basic football gets results, pretty football is great if it comes off, but these teams just take advantage of that and pressure us into errors.
What really concerns me is that all our younger players seem to have their confidence knocked. With the exception of Millar, Albie doesn’t look half the player he is, Maatsen also, and Smith just started to look like he was getting in the game, and was substituted.
Thankfully we’re playing Tuesday, as a week of training doesn’t seem to achieve much. I still say we have the squad good enough to win this league, but for whatever reason we are definitely underachieving. Which has cost us automatic, and is threatening a play off place, and on that performance, we need a rethink if we want to get anything this season.
Defensively we coped very well. we looked a lot better when Purrington come on

and then there was a big fight and nothing really happened after that, but sure
Got to stick with Bowyer. He showed loyalty to us through all the shit times. Can't blame him for the transfer embargo & had his hands tied behind his back. Give him another season.
BOLLOX.
You all know my thoughts. Could have got rid of him 2 months ago & a new manager might have turned it around.Might not, but sure as hell couldn't have done any worse. Look at Sunderland.

Well he is right footed what was absurd was having no-one on left side of midfield so Maatsen was needlessly exposed from the off and I think he's being unfairly singled out when the whole team were shite

Pratley is a decent defensive mid and Millar is great. The test of our midfielders seem only capable of having one good game in 3, JFC, Watson, Shinnie, Morgan and now Smith who looks out of his depth already. Our midfield has scacely dominated all season On our good run in October it was our defence that won us the games, often not ones we deserved to win.
Aside from me actually feeling extremely negative here is my take.
I'll save my thoughts on Bowyer for the other thread.
These players are crap, I will say it till I'm blue in the face, there are a handful of good players and then a load of crap. But regardless of how crap I think they are, it's not so had that we should be getting oustruck by 16th placed Fleetwood (who are apparently a good side btw!) by over 5x! It's f*****g ludicrous. I swear I can't watch these games anymore, they don't even make me angry like they actually deflate me. I just feel so bored and empty watching it. No flair players like the likes of Holmes or JBG or Taylor etc, no players with the drive and determination like Cullen and no calmness personified types. Just a bunch of players who look like they don't give a toss. Other than a couple of loanees funny enough.
This season is done, I am sick of hearing about the run, genuinely. It doesn't exist, I can almost guarantee we will get less than 9 points from those next 5 we saw and we need 10-12 minimum imo.
Apologies if I am negative but it's just really, really bad to watch. Just want the season to be over. Lincoln, Hull, Peterborough, Pompey, Accrington, Sunderland and Doncaster all better sides than us. Then you have Oxford who probably are as well.
Overachieving my arse, 8 sides better than us in league 1.
Second half us among the worst halves of football I've ever seen a Charlton team fart out. Playing out from the back is fine but thats on the assumption the defence and midfield can string 2 passes together
Bowyer is still the man for me, its hard watching these games with the intensity we all do now but truth is whilst we have some players with pedigree we don't have the feel of a side about to go on a 7 game winning streak and attack the play offs and haven't since November.
But rather in our shoes than Wigans, I've not forgotten how close to the abyss we sailed
This was a turgid game. We are going backwards. On this performance I can’t see our owner having too much patience. That was truly awful. i can’t really say much else now.
This totally.
I've said it before but I will say it again - I've worked for a number of very rich, successful businessmen. They all had a real charm about them and people would meet them and always say what a nice bloke.
But they hadn't got to where they were in life just by being nice. Not doing what they wanted or mucking up didn't get tolerated for long. They were all completely ruthless when they had to be.
TS has invested millions into the club. I can't believe he is going to put up with this for much longer.
I cannot remember a worse performance from the 5 th minute onwards. We are being outplayed by ordinary league 1 teams like Gillingham and Fleetwood how we weren’t punished for constantly giving the ball away in dangerous positions, I do not know. Those stats above make painful reading. I think we have some good players but there is no confidence there, we buy a star player from Swindon and he doesn’t play, the midfield does not compete and something now has to happen. We have to build for next season I think now with a new manager
Yeah, all the pointless and disruptive substitutions he did make - most criminally, taking off Smith who was starting to dictate - and he left Jaiyesimi on the bench the whole game!

all in all it’s a decent point
Come off it
I think he thinks it is windy like that every game Fleetwood play.
There are lots of obvious points but a glaring one was the pointlessness of playing Schwartz or Washington when we were never going to give them any service.
It was a triumph to concede a single goal and get a point. But, I'm really not sure what our plan is under Bowyer? We look, at present, no more impressive than we did in 2010-2011 which has to be the most uninspiring season I've ever seen since I started following the club. Given the squad we have (now) there is no explanation as to why we should look so ordinary, not to mention poor, for stretches of the game. Still, a point earned I guess.
What was that? Started so well with a good move for the goal. Barely anything after that at all.
Fleetwood dominated yet we were somehow more solid defensively than we have been. I didn’t expect us to concede but lost hope of us doing anything going forward.
We could barely control or pass the ball. The possession stats don’t reflect just how poor we were.
Bowyer should have got more out them today yet at the same it’s becoming clearer that this squad lacks something that won’t be solved just by changing manager. Really need to get the rebuild spot on if we’re going up next season. Said before I think we took the wrong approach in the summer. We don’t have enough pace and energy in the team. Not enough stand out players that you have in a promotion winning side, too many who look like steady squad players. How many will be playing regularly at a higher level in a year or two?
The few hopes we had of a turnaround disappeared, we always creates chances but not today. Bowyer wasn’t even angry after that like he would been in the past. Can only guess he’s lost faith in this squad and it’s seeping through in to the players. Does he need a break or is he losing motivation himself? Is he counting down to the summer? Do the players really believe in the squad and themselves? I never like blaming refs and conditions as successful sides usually find a way to deal with those things.
There’s nothing to defend in that performance today, only good thing is we limited Fleetwood to one goal rather than the 2/3/4 we’ve become used to.

We should have parted ways with LB months ago, as it was abundantly clear then that he was out of his depth.
Instead we chose to sacrifice our season due to loyalty to LB. Now we will be lucky if we get a top-half finish.
But at least if we make the change now, then the new manager will be able to have more time to build a team to challenge next season.
We can't go on like this.

last two games should have been a minimum 4 points. It’s yielded one, and that one was undeserved. It’s just not good enough.
