So, I've been thinking....how's this for a swerve??
Everyone's expecting Cody to face Rollins, but what if......Austin brings out Cody to face KO in a match??
I'm just trying to think outside the box & do something different
That would make sense if there was history between Cody and Austin. Maybe even if it was Dustin, from Austin, it would make more sense.
Have they ever done a mistery opponent angle at mania before? They did Owen's mistery partner.
They had new day come out in their gear to announce an extra team had been added to the match then the Hardys returned. Not a mystery opponent per say but was damn cool!
I’ve been thinking the Cody thing is so obvious and well known that they’d be well served to swerve the audience and bring in someone different to face Rollins. Not sure there’s anyone who would fit the bill who’s realistically available though
as noted elsewhere, crowds cheer ‘happenings’ these days, so a Cody return is still going to get a big reaction in the stadium
Bray Wyatt came to mind. I believe he’s still unattached. Braun I think is the guy who has set up a promotion with the former EC3 so probably unavailable.
Just watched Taker's acceptance speech. Love his very last words at the end, and I have no doubt in my mind that we will see him lace up his boots again at some point
Cody looked massive in AEW compared to a lot of the Wrestlers, but he's very average sized in reality.
I also don't understand what he brings to the table, his biggest pull was the fact that instead of towing the line in WWE or touring the Indy's, he would go and setup a competitor to WWE in AEW. The whole smashing the throne thing didn't exactly age well either did it?
I guess Cody chased the money, I'd imagine Vinnie Mac threw a lot at him to lure him back, and he would believe bringing Cody back would hurt AEW
They definitely under-promised and over-delivered with the Stone Cold segment.
I was pretty underwhelmed by the idea of closing the night on a talk show, but to then actually deliver a match (and a pretty decent one considering!) - fair play.
Certainly wasn’t going into it expecting to see him taking suplexes on the concrete.
Still can’t get my head around Cody Rhodes’ decision. Just doesn’t add up whatsoever.
Overall, it was a fun Wrestlemania. I’m not usually one for the cheap Attitude era nostalgia segments that WWE rely on - but the moments involving Austin and McMahon across the weekend were brilliant.
A 76 year old billionaire deciding to put himself into an unadvertised match is always going to get a buzz.
Certainly not a ‘classic’ Mania, but I thought they did well considering how low the expectations were. Surprises are one of the things that make pro wrestling great when done properly and I think they delivered with Austin’s match, McMahon’s cameo and the Cody debut

Their ring gear is always top notch.
Oh and its the anniversary of the 1st Wrestlemania today and 12 where the boyhood dream came true.

Then we have a match with ‘Happy Corbin’
Seriously.

That tattoo is larger, and thus even worse, than I remembered…
That said, seemed to me he and Rollins beat the hell out of each other! Bit jarring to not hear his move referred to as a “tope suicida” though
Good show - Austin did far more than I was expecting - the fans were sent home happy

I think tonight's card looks better
Logan Paul is a decent worker!
Imagine the pop if nobody knew & Cody Rhodes from AEW showed up!!
Also loved the sidekick guy.
