  • They're gonna ruin my favourite NXT guy Pete Dunne 😭😭😭
  • Just listening to William Regal on Jericho's podcast. He talks about his health issues over the last few years. Incredible story. Highly recommend it.
Harrowing in places, especially some of the physical/health struggles. Was wincing all the way through it.

With Big E's injury this week, hopefully wrestlers can stop taking so many unnecessary risks so often.

As Cornette said this week, people don't even remember most of these high risk moves as there is multiple on each show so they lose all meaning and are quickly forgotten. Best saved for big matches and angles.

I wouldn’t necessarily say Big E was taking much of a risk with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, but it does go to show how things can go wrong in an instant if not careful.

On the whole, I do think wrestlers take much better care of themselves physically these days than they did in prior decades - even with the riskier styles. Less drugs, less alcohol, better conditioning.

Not to mention the lengths companies go to make everything safer. The mats by the ring are thicker, there's no unprotected shots to the head with objects now, and many of the structures used (cages, ladders, elimination chamber etc.) Are designed with safety at the forefront.
  • Queen Sharmell??

Are they running out of people to induct into the hall of fame?

Once you take everyone that works for AEW and hasn't sued them, probably.
  • Does anyone know the betting odds for Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns at wrestlemania?

    Can't find them.

It is basically analysing the thoughts of a decision maker...

I highly doubt Brock Lesnar would be winning it clear and easy. It is possible, but I can't see that happening.

It will either have someone interfering or RR would win clean.

    Who knows though
  • Just an educated guess, but I think it’s a Roman win.

The title unification aspect of the match means that the champion will be on both shows going forward, and I would expect to see RR being more likely to be doing that than Lesnar.

Booker T is so good (so good in fact that even Bret Hart rates him) that he's now carried a second family member into the Hall of Fame.

If you don't believe me, watch his best of 7 series on the network 'Booker T in singles action'.  ;)

    Alright, sucka
  • Queen Sharmell is about to be inducted into the hall of fame.  The Rock isn't in the hall of fame.

    Let that sink in

A rule of thumb they often go with is that people will be inducted after they have officially retired. Doesn’t always work out that way (Edge for example), but they definitely will be wanting at least one more Wrestlemania main event out of The Rock.

The night the Rock goes in it will be a whole weekend of just the Rock.  He will be the last hour of the HOF, the last hour of the 3rd night of Mania, or maybe just the whole day.

He will write the theme tune, sing the theme tune.
  • Apparently there was a situation where they seriously considered making this year's HOF just The Undertaker and no-one else. Probably why the HOF so far has been lacklustre other than his name, so they can still dedicate most of it to him

Yeah, I thought that as I posted

    Vader isn't lackluster.

It is a little bit when you consider the fact that he won’t be there (for obvious reason)

Trust me compared to 'Taker he is. The other people in the class of 22 will get barely as much time as 'Taker will in total

He is if you only ever saw him on WWF TV.

When you consider the people that will never go in (Savage, Beniot, Cornette, Owen) and the ones that work for AEW (Jerricho, Big Show, Bryan) and Punk who is probably in both categories there isn't much left.

The big ones that aren't and will be are obviously the Rock, Cena and Paul E then it's the current roster.

I would like to see Kid go in on his own but I don't think they should use the first ever 3 timer on him.  But that would probably mean either Marty Janetty or Flair going in again.
  • Several credible websites now claiming Cody has signed with WWE .

Must admit, I thought it was a work!!

Part of me still think it is. Like some sort of long term storytelling that AEW are prepared to play in order to bring him back as a major heel.

Or, maybe he really has fallen out hard with AEW and wants to stick it to them. Never ever thought we’d see it go this way though

I remember him from WCW Saturday night on ITV. He's a great number 2 to 'takers induction. Bigger names than Vader will be main induction that year. Annoying they waited until after he was dead.

They have a formula each year of one big name, a kind of co main and i'll leave you to speculate over the others but there's always a female and a deceased wrestler.

Last year was strange with Kane being the main to Bischoff, got that the wrong way around. 😉

Savage was class 2015, you may remember Hogan inducting him. 😑

Cornette, his time will come but he's hardly high on the list. He did a great speech for the Midnight Express, a speech for himself doesn't need to be as respectful...

Owen, i'm with Martha on this.

Benoit, not worthy of a comment.

Too many are in twice, the likes of Hogan and Flair, fair enough. But Waltman and for a third time?

I completely forgot Savage went in, I have even got it on DVD doh.

Cornette inducted the Rock and Roll, I can't see him ever going in.  As Bobby isn't going in this year I assume he won't, the midnight never had a run anyway (and no the "new" doesn't count).

The point with Waltman is there are far more less deserving people in it than him as a single but he shouldn't be a 3 timer either.  Especially not the only one.

100% Vader should be in, if you take his Japan and WCW runs he could have gone in as the main one year.

They are really running out of mains though.
  • They have a few in there who never wrestled in New York so the Midnight Express with Cornette 100% should go in. Probably my second favourite manager after Heenan. This year would be fitting as well.

Kid deserves a single spot. I think the mistake was putting in with the NWO.

Another issue with the midnight is who do you put in.  You could have the bizarre situation were you induct Condrey and Lane despite them never being a team.  Anyway small potatoes.
  • This is so true. The internet has ruined wrestling cause everyone knows what's coming

Even better you could go to the video store hire a PPV on VHS, from 2, 3 or more years ago and not have a clue on the outcomes of the matches.  Good Times.
