  • That's not a Bowyer team. JJ is his own man. Now let's see the team go on the offensive.

    0-3

And smith not even on bench Arteta will be pleased!!

No proper back up full back either. Ditching both Pratley and Watson from the squad might have been a step too far for JJ's first game though

Bit ironic, the bloke whose legs went has dumped the blokes whose legs have gone.
  • Decent line up, looking forward to a Charlton game for the first time in a while. Don’t get the fascination with playing a CM on the wing though when Jaiyesimi sits on the bench.
Do any teams play two out and out wingers these days?
  • Just remembered something random. Didn't we win 5-1 away at Bristol Rovers with a caretaker manager in charge just before Nobby Gobinson took over? I think we did, can't remember for the life of me who our manager was that night.

    Anyone, come on Jacko!

  • Not enough stoppers in that team for me. 4-0 loss incoming.
  • Chucks don’t start.
    We go behind
Bill Murray cones on for Andi McDowell

Not AND 2 center forwards and haven't since the 90s.  The only exception being Guy Luzon.  Curbs played a CM on one side and a winger, so did Powell, so did SAF.

  • Brief mention of Bowyer from Scott, and then ho hum back to basics with Curbs and Bolder, let the good times roll on, tell us a few secrets Bob

I can't believe Custard TV has shown BFG's play-off winning goal at the start of tonight's coverage and used Sky's soundtrack instead of the magical in-house commentary with @KillersBeard and @StubleyAddick.

Maybe JJ doesn't rate him. Or at least thinks his form isn't good enough to start.
  • Anyone else just catch Curbs’ accidental Brentism? “If you don’t wanna be here...”
  • Love the line up

Will this be a revitalized Charlton performance inspired by club legend, Jonny Jackson which results in passionate free flowing football and lots of goals?
  • No Pratley. No Watson. 5-4 incoming.

  • Or just more of the usual dross?

Memories of Bowyer from his first game in charge v Plymouth, Remember that game very well,Curbs and Bob giving a good little history catch up on his managership here, and now showing the semi v Doncaster, and Wembley, so nice little homage, great memories

It might be a 4-3-3 or a diamond, can’t assume a CM will be on the wing.
  • Curbs 'Bows done a good job'

    Couldn't agree more
  • Come on Scott ask Curbs "Have you applied yet?" :-)
  • First time I’ve ever watched VP, am absolutely loving this... could listened to the talk all day.
