It's madness that Mitrovic is in the Championship

But when he is in the prem he doesnt step up.

9 goals in 34 for Newcastle
    11 in 37 for Fulham
    3 in 27 for Fulham

    His prem records

For a main striker to only have 1 season getting into double figures isnt good enough.

One of those players, to good for the championship but struggles with the step up, maybe needs to try a top league outside of england, look at Haller, done well in Bundersliga, struggled with West Ham now doing well with Ajax

Same as Pukki at Norwich, on fire in the championship, damp squib in the prem.

Fulham were dreadful in the Prem, so 11 ain’t too bad and he’s a better player now than he was when at Newcastle.

He’s shown for Serbia that he can play well against good defenders, he just needs service.

Should definitely be playing Premiership football.
  • Croatia have beaten Russia 1-0 and leapfrog them into first place to qualify for the World Cup. Russia will have to settle for the playoffs.
Own goal as well, Fedor Kudryashov will never be seen again apart from breaking rocks in Siberia.

He was fake limping right before knocking it into his own leg. I perceived this as being due to embarrassment at weakly knocking the ball out for a throw when not under much pressure.

He'd had quite a good game until that point, too

Surely, for example, he's as good as the likes of Olly Watkins or Jarod Bowen who've all moved from the Championship to "non yoyo PL club"? Or the likes of Callum Wilson or Benteke?
  • I see Malta had TWO players sent off today within 4 minutes, both for second bookings. I hadn't realised Trevor Kettle refereed international matches as well!

  • Crazy how a side with Ronaldo, Bernardo silva, Bruno fernandes, Ruben Dias, Cancelo, Moutinho, Nuno Mendes, Diogo Jota now have to go through a play off.

Loved the Mitrovic celebration, must've been about 30 players and staff on top of him in that corner celebrating.
  • Washington on the bench for N Ireland tonight, with Magennis a lone striker
  • Currently Switzerland 2-0 Bulgaria | Northern Ireland 0-0 Italy

If that stays the same then Italy are in the Play-Offs

10-15 minutes for Italy to find something...
  • 10-15 minutes for Italy to find something...
Swiss 3-0 up now... If they score another then even a 1-0 win for Italy will see them in 2nd thanks to lesser Goal Difference - Unless of course the first decider isnt based on that?
  • The NI fans singing “you’re just a shit San Marino”. Good game this

Would actually be curious to see what happens if Italy do win 1-0 and Switzerland win 3-0.

They'd be joint points | Goal Difference | Goals Scored | Goals Conceded

And they drew against each other

Swiss would top the group on away goals.

    0-0 in Switzerland
    1-1 in Italy

So one Italy goal isnt enough then :)

Conor Washington rounded the keeper but couldn't get the ball in the net past two defenders on the line.

    FT in Group C.

Switzerland qualify for the World Cup. Italy drop into the play-offs with Portugal and Scotland.
  • The playoffs, is it right only 4 teams qualify from 12?

    3 from 12.
