Bit of a stomping early on. Little chance of an Astros recovery from two grand slams in back to back innings. Outlook is bleak given the status of the pitching rotation.
Red Sox one out away and the Astros hit two solo homers bottom of the ninth. The way this sporting Saturday is going I’m twitchy at 9-5 up and one out away
Just watched back Braves v Dodgers game 2. Hard to take as a Dodgers fan. We probably should have won Game 1 and should certainly have won last night having a 4-2 lead after 7. We probably now have to win all 3 back in LA to have a decent chance of getting through.
Kyle Schwarber has been an utter beast of an acquisition at the deadline. This team has so much power even though their pitching is so-so they can hit their way out of almost anything.
Sox up 2-1 after one inning. Interesting stat they mentioned - Astros pitcher Zach Grienke has won in 31 different major league parks. Fenway is not one of them.
Now that’s a quick hook. 37 pitches for Grienke and he’s gone. I’m not sure about that. He didn’t appear to be in any trouble.
He hadn’t pitched properly in over a month from what I’ve read. I don’t think the plan was for him to go very long but he was looking a little bit rusty to my eye.
Good work by Brooks Raley to come in and get the two outs to get out of the second inning.
Dodgers pulled that one out of the fire when they looked done. Still got it all to do but we've given ourselves a chance. Fair play to Bellinger, has come good just when we needed him.
Very difficult to see the Dodgers coming back from this. Last season we came back from 3-1 down but on a neutral venue, this time even if we win tonight we have to then win 2 in Atlanta to progress. To be fair their Bullpen performed very well, whereas Urias was all over the place leaving us too much to do. Still hoping but it looks like Braves probably against Astros in the World Series.
