Once more unto The Valley, dear friends, once more;
Or close the defensive wall up with our Charlton injured.
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of the referee's whistle blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the Kinsella;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd tackling;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the Costa stare; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth the Mountain Inniss
O'erhang and jutty his confounded opponent,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful defence.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest Charlton.
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Curbishleys,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to win. And you, good midfield,
Whose limbs were made in SE7, show us here
The mettle of your training; let us swear
That you are worth your selection; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like Yann on the defender's shoulder,
Straining upon the pass. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Nads, Charlton, and Sangaard!'

We often rise to the occasion when we play the better teams. I think we will do it again on Sunday and get the win we need. Just hope our rivals slip up and we get that last playoff spot. 3-1 to the REDS.
Being Charlton, you just know that if we win, so will one of Pompey or Oxford. Then if we draw or lose they probably will too, so we have that "what might have been" moment.
I suppose it would be the last £10 of the season. Might as well. Weather not great, missus not talking to me (again), flat purchase probably falling through, political hopes dashed (again). F*** it.
Had the weirdest dream last night. We were playing Hull last game of the season needing to win. (We we’re away rather than at home though)
Anyway I walk into my lounge and the game is on tv and Nigel Adkins is sitting there watching it. And when I look at the team I see he’s picked a team full of youth players and we’re 2-0 down already. So I give him a right rollicking for not try to win or even bothering to turn up.
Last season Leeds were champions elect and promoted when we played them on the last day and, needing a result, they tonked us. So, on that basis, I think it’ll swing the other way and Hull will be there for the taking. It could be our day.
A big thank you to FA and Sage for their excellent reviews throughout the season. Given the low media profile of League 1, I often find that I know relatively little about the teams we're facing, particularly given the huge turnover in personnel at most clubs at this level. As a result, the information provided in the previews about the opposition's players and their usual tactical approach is always very interesting.
As for Sunday, Hull will miss Honeyman in midfield but their confidence will be extremely high and we'll have to find a way of containing Wilks, who's a real threat up top. Hopefully they'll lose a little of their intensity after clinching the championship and we can produce a top performance to swing the game our way. At least we go into the last game with something to play for and, regardless of whether or not we make the play-offs, there is finally a genuine feeling of optimism for the future with Thomas at the helm.
I was impressed with Docherty when we played them last. Looked a proper midfielder in the mould we are crying out for.
We tried to sign him ourselves last season if I remember rightly... Was on loan @ Shrewsbury from Rangers - I imagine it didnt happen at the time because of the Transfer Embargo in January, we probably would have wanted him in the summer but still couldnt sign anyone

Many Thanks to @ForeverAddickted for your previews during the Good, bad and ugly times of Charlton Athletic. I know Young Sage is quality as well but you have made three games in a week on many occasions when you must be carrying knocks. You make the odd mistake like saying the wrong KO time and Day which would be a straight Red from Trevor Kettle and your optimism has been questioned, but personally I find you ride the tackles well against some robust studs up comments.
I hope you are retained for next season along with Sage. My source tells me your agent has requested Rich tea for home games and Jaffa cakes for away games next Season. AFKA believes this is taking the biscuit and talks are ongoing.
High noon tomorrow and we have to slay the Tiger, considering how poor we are with the Lions it looks like mission impossible, with the caveat that both Pompey and Oxford have to screw up.
Nature willing we will all be back next season; unless we win and........
Quality preview @ForeverAddickted hopefully the players show the same quality that we have seen in bits and pieces this season for a full game, even if it’s the last game this season.
Think they’re going to be right up for it and will just go for it, we literally have nothing to lose. I would be far more nervous had we managed to hold on against Crewe and be two points better off. Don’t think we particularly deserve top six, but if we manage to sneak it, let’s just enjoy it.
Hope Aneke starts, I really do, but just think he will come on at half time and terrorise them second half, a bit like Tuesday night. We run out 3-1 winners and everyone looks back at the home form thinking, “if only”.
Stockley, Aneke x2.
Whatever happens, I’m looking forward to the build of recruitment in the summer and hoping that our strike force includes the two players I’ve predicted to score tomorrow.
Thankyou for the write ups @ForeverAddickted and @Sage throughout the season, very good and much appreciated. As for tomorrows match I think we may just 'nick' it so going for 2-1. However, despite hoping I'm wrong, I think Oxford will win, as for Pompey they could bottle it.
Just hoping that we that we have a real good go at it. Remember the relegation year where we beat Aston Villa away 3-4 then went down to Sheff Weds without even a whimper at the Valley? Cant bear that even today it still hurts. FA Cup knockout style attack-attack-attack. And if we go down badly- it was meant to be.
No need to worry about the fat lady turning up at the valley tomorrow, I kidnapped her at 9.30 this morning and just left her gagged and chained up in the dug out of some shit hole in south east London called the den. charlton 2. Hull 0 portsmouth 1 Accrington 1 oxford 1 Burton 1

Despite the facts of our last 3 final day matches against the champions I think we’ll sneak a win. I don’t hold out much hope for both of the other two slipping to draws or losing though,
If in the midst of reading the Shenanigans thread every few minutes I would have bitten your hand off to be in the position we are now in with TS in ownership and a window soon to open.
Would love a shot at the play-offs but would expect an all out assault on Div 1 next season if we are forced to go again.

lost 0-3 Bournemouth
lost 0-3 Burnley

They were all going to be “on the beach”....so we would roll them?
Home formed killed us this year - Fans will be back to cheer us to the Champ next season 👍👍

Pompey and Oxford one or both cruise in to 2-3-4 goal leads laughing at us
Charlton 25%

Well that's just super duper.
