He says he chose Pompey over Ipswich but also says he never spoke to the Ipswich manager- they can't have wanted him much in that case and I wonder if it is the same with us.
I actually find this news encouraging. Amos was our "number one" choice to be our keeper this season. Until he was signed up we were looking at, and talking to, a number of other options.
Once it was clear he wasn't going to sign we moved quickly to secure another option. Exactly how it should be done.
I still think we will sign another 7 or 8, some on loan, some perm, some 1st choice first team players, some squad players. I also still think half of them will be here before the "massive" game. 3 weeks is a long time in football.
I can confirm that CAFC aren't signing Toulouse lautrec because he failed the Height test, at 4ft 11 inches.
Mark Bradford the American Artist who is 6ft 7, did have a trial at Sparrows lane in his youth as a Striker but unfortunately every time the CB got near him he hit the canvas.

I must admit, I have never thought as I watched Pompey play. 'This team remind me of Man City'. Did he mean, Man City when they were shite?
Players do so much brown nosing when they join a club and it's just for the club's fans.
The Cowley brothers had worked the non League circuit for years when they were PE teachers. I remember seeing them manage at Concord Rangers in an away match.
It's a dam sight easier being a successful manager when you have ,Top international players to come off the bench to play ball retention and quick transition than from the National League north or south where the part time midfield playmaker has worked an 8 hour shift on a building sight before the evening game.
Being in the 3rd tier is magic for the brothers as after getting the Huddersfield job in the championship where for the first time they had to deal with a few guys who were on premier wages of 40k(after being relegated) and had less motivation than players in the 6th and 7th tier of the football pyramid.
Different world where you have to realize the limitations of your players while still trying to improve them.
