    Or as the owner he could just be addressing the crowd at the start of the new season, you know "here we go, hopefully we'll be getting promoted this season, we hope to get some more signings in and I'd like to say thanks to everyone."

    Crewe still haven’t announced squad numbers for the season, which is odd. Interesting to see the squad they announce for today.

    Listening to their manager they've obviously got problems. Bids in for Kirk which has unsettled the player on the eve of the start of the season & another player wanting to leave after just having joined them. Probably dont want to release squad numbers only for those players to leave within a day or 2.

    I think he deserves his day in the sun/rain, and bet he’s as excited as he’s been for an occasion for quite a while, this day has been a long time coming for him, I’m sure he’ll get the reception he deserves.let him have his moment is what I say.👍

    Afterwards Artell explains that Kirk isn't in the right mindset to play, with transfer business ongoing

    My prediction is that Kirk plays for Crewe at 3pm, then us at 5.30. I’d say it’s pretty much nailed on.

    Some details on Kirk last season from Crewe Analytics. 

    30 of the chances Kirk created were directly after he’d dribbled past an opponent, which was 2nd highest in League One.

    There is no way that we would have signed a player & not released the fact. Doubly more so with the fact that we need players in asap. 

    Kirk will be on the Crewe team sheet at 2pm this afternoon. 
    Remember Hamza Bouazza appeared on the team sheet just prior to a home game against Reading?
