We've been beaten and outplayed by Oxford and MK Dons this week, that's the level we currently are at. Obviously there’s the opening 20 minutes against MK and I thought we played some lovely football throughout the Sheffield game. The finishing was the issue in the opening game, not the build up play.Maccn05 said:

Well, I'd like to think that if this new plan goes tits up... it won't be followed again next season. At the end of the day, we still have a club, which you probably wouldn't have been able to say if TS hadn't saved us. Thomas is a businessman, he won't want to spend too many years paying 10m jusy to stand still.0

I think there are two distinct issues with players not scoring their fair share of goals. You have those that may miss a lot but do get chances and those that don't miss a lot because they don't get chances. These players seem to lack the instinct. It is a reason why I can see Morgan scoring goals at some point if his confidence improves but other players less so.0

That shows we did have some build up play, but finishing let us down. Obviously, there’s a lot of room for improvement, but we have played some good football at times this season, just need to make that part of our game a lot more consistent.6 -

I would wager our starting 11 against MK Dons earnt more a week than theirs despite the presents of Morgan and Inniss, who earn relatively little. That's before we bought on Watson and Kirk.

If you were to take a guess at who are likely to be the 5 clubs paying the biggest wages in this division most people would probably say Ipswich and Wigan as the top 2 then Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and us.BR7_addick said:Say what you will but under Roland we’d of never got this explanation. Stockley will score goals with the right service. We need to keep the ball better and create more and higher quality chances. Improving the midfield with Kirk and a creative CM (Lowery?) would help, as would having an attacking left back rather than Gunter and a stronger bench.

Yet we are at thr lowest point we have EVER been in the league, with a desperately inadequate squad, almost no goal threat and an acceptance by Adkins that we are unable to pay wages needed to attract the best league one players. We have a youth policy at the same time that our youth team has produced fewer young players of real promise than for a long time. We have a promotion strategy which depends on us bucking the trend that promoted teams are the ones who spend the most. How is any of this 'light years' ahead? I would be strongly tempted to play Morgan and Watson as the 2 tomorrow and Clare in the more advanced role. Watson and Morgan were very good in those roles against Lincoln and Hull right at the end of last season. Clare has the energy to get up and passed Stockley. We miss JFC so much at the moment.
Far from ideal but if you change nothing you will get the same result. I would consider 3 at the back but we really don't have the players for that.1 -

If Wigan and Ipswich don’t get out of this league in a couple years after taking a big gamble and splashing stupid cash, they are going to be royally buggered. Wigan went from the brink of collapse to going on a spending spree. I think that’s idiotic and am glad TS hasn’t done the same thing tbf because I think it will end in tears for Wigan

For the wide forward type, why Sims has not been mentioned, I don’t know. Maybe he is one who has his demands a bit too high and needs to lower in order to get a contract. Would be a great signing and much better than someone who didn’t do it in League Two last season.
Interested to know who the other player that went to Wigan is that we missed out on. Amos is one, who is the second?
I would wager our starting 11 against MK Dons earnt more a week than theirs despite the presents of Morgan and Inniss, who earn relatively little. That's before we bought on Watson and Kirk.
Was Father Christmas there gifting goals ?

I'll say this again.
Charlton, Ipswich, Sunderland and probably Portsmouth and Wigan are not sustainable clubs in league 1. Not if they spend 1k a week or 10k a week on a player.
It's not if your hemerage money it's how much and for how long.4
