I'm very sad to read and to have to pass on this message from Jean's son Gary
"I have said news I'm afraid.
Mum passed away on Friday aged 89. She was in her 75th year of supporting Charlton"
Jean hadn't been well for some time and had been living in a care home. We sent her a copy of the book "when football was football - 100 Years of Charlton Athletic" recently which Gary said the care team and Jean greatly enjoyed going through in the last few days.
I'm choked up despite this not being unexpected news.
Jean was a lovely lady, Charlton through and through and I'm humbled to have known her as I'm sure are many others.
I'll pass on any news of the funeral and other arrangements when I hear them.
