That photo of Arter celebrating makes me think he cares. I think he will become a decent signing. @Leuth might not like my opinion though.
Also, in those goal videos, you can see he enjoyed Stockley’s goal as well. Can’t get carried away with one performance against a poor team, especially after how he started, but got a feeling he could play a massive part in our season.
Looks like Arter is happy with that win. Could have easily just been sat on the bench - but nice to know he looks like he wants to be here, and it reflected in his performance today.
Three in midfield and two wingers sounds like a 4-5-1 to me. Whatever they want to describe it, that was much better. Much more protection for the back four and IMO played to our strength of very good midfielders. Lee, Gilbey, Arter, all had good games. Leko outstanding. Davison did well and unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions, and as a fan you can’t help but love his effort. Stockley showed his is not a sulker and that was a very good finish. Talk of dressing room unrest quite clearly rubbish, as is the claim that Adkins does not go through tactics and the opposition. Leko said they got briefed on full backs etc, and apparently the quality of their free kicks discussed. A very good result, but we need a run now.
Yeah its become the latest "thanks colin" phrase almost
So many talked about what Ipswich were doing during the Window and that we should be emulating them, that its become a joke when they do badly because of that
Dare I say it, fairly pleased for Nigel. (& I was in the out camp)
Credit to all those who travelled up there today, unreal support and noise.
Watched on a stream and we looked much today, I hope we don’t need to make 5/6 changes again because we’ll be ok with this settled side.
Thought Arter was very good today, maybe not as “finished” as some thought after 45 mins in action.
Need to kick on now and I hope we do. Good to see the players show a bit of fight, hopefully that was for the club and for the manager.
Also, I do really like Mcgillivray!
COYA
I'm very pleased for Nigel, the players, the staff and fans. I'm not Adkins's greatest fan, but if he can get this team to start winning I soon will be.
He's been dealt a poor hand with some of the poor signings, late signings, unfit player signings and our two best midfielders from last season being either injured (JFC) or suffering from long covid (Gilbey).
10 games in and many of the players are approaching match fitness and starting to gel.
He may be a good/average/poor manager these days, I really don't know, but I do know he wanted all his signings done early, so we would have been in this sort of position a week before the season kicked off, rather than 10 games into the season.
Much better this afternoon, they played as a team compared with Tuesday night.
The opposition are still getting chances but was nice to see the players getting their bodies in front of efforts today.
I wanted to put a Kenneth Williams picture on your post on the match thread, where you quoted’ I love Corey!!’😂…. Don’t we all!!. But I didn’t know how.
Then you can't be an upstanding member of Charlton Life
I’ll take that. Winning always feels good but it’s October and we are bottom 4 and still look there for the taking. Hopefully we are turning the corner and winning becomes a habit.
Much better performance all round. We deserved the win, would have been sickening to concede at the death.
That wasn't a performance of a side who's manager has lost the dressing room. Loan players steaming into challenges and everyone giving effort, even if quality still lacked at times.
Of course it's only Fleetwood, but an away win in shit conditions is good wherever you get it. Results in this league are mad so I feel we can kick on from this.
Shout out to Fleetwood for being the most northern looking town around

I saw enough today to tell me that Adkins hasn't lost the dressing room.
Could and should have won by more and on another day those goals will come. Great to see bodies on the line to stop them scoring late on.
Only negative for me was the keeper, that was piss poor to concede with a free kick hit right at the spot he was standing in.
Do you not think he did enough after that to redeem himself?
I can't make my mind up about MacGillivray.
Sure he made a good save early on and was in the right place right at the end,
But ..
He never came for a high ball or cross all afternoon. Not once. Amos may have had his faults with long shots but he would have swallowed up some of those crosses. Not coming for a cross just puts the defence under huge pressure.
And he should have saved that free kick. Or at least got a bit nearer to it.
That was one of Amos's key attributes coming for crosses/high balls. Pompey fans warned that Mac is a great shot stopper but doesn't command his area.

Bill and Mavis Unsworth have even gone there for a short caravanning holiday...

It's nice to go away and actually see a win, and being in an away end 100% behind the team, if not Adkins
Adkins was really feeling it at the end, he was actually standing on the pitch during the last couple of minutes

Unless it's just a bit of fun and I'm not being fun.
They spent more than anyone else, so if they're failing it shows its not just us struggling to gel.
And it's become a bit of a joke.

Hopefully after today, “Charlton will come good” might start to come true..

Is it a real turning point (Bloody hope so) or a a false dawn. Couple of weeks to find out.
