Devastating news.  The end of an era - the only monarch that I have ever known and one that will never be bettered.  We will now have a bitter illustration of the adage 'you don't know what you have until it is gone'.

This is a dreadful loss to the UK, her people, the Commonwealth and the world.

Considering it was patently obvious a couple of hours ago she had died, I can’t believe how numb and sad I feel on the confirmation.

The most amazing, remarkable woman. Even anti-monarchists I’m sure would agree you could not have a better Queen.
