I don't have an issue with the charging a premium for signed merch, as people may not have the time or the contacts to get their stuff signed the old-fashioned way, so this gives them another option. Whether they've pitched the prices at an appropriate level, particularly given our current circumstances is a lot more debatable.
I think charging for the personalised messages is a lot more dodgy. If they're trying to rebuild the connection between the players and the fans, then monetising it in this way is at best unhelpful, and possibly a little exploitative, given that they're charging those kind of prices for something that's fairly ephemeral. There's also a risk that by commercialising those kind of messages that they end up falling prey to people submitting spoof requests like that Nigel Farage "Up The Ra" thing, so it may end up being more trouble than it's worth.
Can't believe why people are getting upset at this! FFs, if you don't want it don't buy any! Simple. I won't either but there are many things the clubs does I don't buy from items in the shop, jackpot tickets and other things. Doesn't mean the club shouldn't do it. Please shut up moaning at everything
You're moaning at people moaning.
And that’s the ridiculousness of it all. Get a fecking grip fhs
Must admit i'm surprised at the general outrage. It's not something you're forced to buy so if you're not interested then don't bother. A lot of people like signed stuff so i'm pretty sure the mens stuff will sell out, especially from parents buying their kids xmas presents.
One thing i will agree on though is that the women's prices are a joke, i can't see many takers for their items.

They haven't said players will now refuse to sign anything and the items are signed by the whole squad. We did this years ago with signed items in about 2005
The video message is a nice touch but I can imagine the manager getting tons of them to do and the rest of the squad kicking their heels a bit
Giving someone a shirt signed by the worst Charlton team of all time with an accompanying video from Chris Gunter (worst player in worst Charlton team of all time) could work as mildly amusing, ironic joke.

Agree about the pricing but it isn't something I'll be spending money on anyway so for me that becomes a case of things being worth what someone is willing to pay for them
Some people wouldn't think twice about paying £250+ for a pair of designer trainers, others would laugh at the thought of spending that much. This isn't really any different.
So is she the fans spokesperson, or the person with the loudest voice ?. Is this poll set up on request of fans, or is she using her position to be the loudest voice in the room ? Genuine questions.

I would presume the purpose of the tweet/vote is to gauge a reaction and if necessary feedback to the club.

If that’s the case, then it’s very emotion lead way of asking.

Then in reply to his own comment, says a friend dropped a shirt off at training a few weeks ago and it was signing for nothing.
It's simply faux outrage like most other things these days. If you live near the ground, drop a shirt off. If you live 100s of miles away, purchase one online for a bit extra.

I spose you think a football signed by someone playing for Man U ladies should be the same price as one signed by Ronaldo?

It's been quite obvious to me that TS will only spend serious money if we're making serious money.
Anyone else see the problem here?
You could save up and get Louie Spence, an absolute bargain for £65.

However not for £175 - You can get "Minty" from Eastenders for a fraction of the price. https://www.cameo.com/mr.c.p?nodeId=actors/tv/eastenders&nodeType=category

Simple as that
The timing is way off.
