Of course, should we win we will finish in 6th place which, if we repeated next year, would put us in the top Division for 2025 (subject to the review recommendations being accepted). Now that would upset Strauss and the ECB!
Qadri at 8 isn't great, thankfully he isn't batting at 134-6!
Playing a delightful little knock
Indeed, been pleasantly surprised
Bromley CC hired his services for 4 games last season in the KPL. He scored 50 runs at an average of 12.50 (opening the batting on half of those occasions) and returned bowling figures of 26-1-149-2. Don't think Bromley, who were relegated of course, thought that they got value for money.
This season he's been playing in the Derbyshire Premier League and averages 14.50 from a dozen innings with bowling figures of 130.4-13-515-17.
Some people think it's a massive step up to professional cricket but those performances rather suggest that it isn't always plain sailing when going the other way.
I think that’s right. It’s with a bad mistake on their end, or they’ve looked at the current scores and realized their best chance is to overtake Yorkshire.

The rain really screwed them, LOL
So much time was taken out, that they had to declare early to try and force a win. I guess if they knew that a lot of time would be lost today, they might have batted for a declaration, but then if Kent had slumped to say 200 all out, there was always the chance of Kent losing and a draw being enough for them.
That is correct. Warwickshire are clearly trying to catch Yorkshire as a win as 16 points would put them ahead of Yorkshire if they should lose by virtue of the fact that Warwickshire would have won one more game. Wonder if Warwickshire could persuade Hants to declare at some point to make a game of it. That would really please Yorkshire!
We done it . We are staying up . Next trophy to tick of is The County Championship . Last time we won it was 1978. We have finished 2nd since last time was 2004
a) no penalty points for slow over rates, so Qadri, Leaning and Denly will have to be ready to bowl, and no faffing around for ages trying to decide whether you want a boundary fielder at extra cover or cover. b) no penalty points for dissent, or over aggressive appealing
"I say umpire, I think that is out... You think it's not out, well I'm sure you're right with your superb eyesight and judgement, silly me"
Michael Hogan is 41 and currently playing his 380th and last professional game. Glamorgan have declared on 533-9 with Hogan not required to come to the crease. Nothing unusual there except there was a reason was doing this. Hogan in those 380 games and 307 innings for 3,720 runs has never been out LBW - a world record.
Only one wicket has fallen so far in the Sussex innings. Orr LBW Hogan. Oh the irony.
Seb received a message at the weekend from a mate at his club in Australia telling him that he had been included as one of the players in the South Australia Cricket Fantasy Cricket League. He got very excited especially when he heard that he had been valued at Australian $9m (equivalent to £5.4m) and even more so when he realised that he was priced the same as the likes of internationals Travis Head and Alex Carey. It was a bit of a let down though when he found out that all 250 players are, actually, currently valued the same.
That was nothing compared to his anger when I told him that he hadn't made the team I had selected for the League. After all, there's no room for sentiment in sport. Be that in reality or fantasy.

Rain stopped play

If only our lads in the red shirts could fight their way, against all the odds, to give us something to celebrate too.
Whats the betting they now decide to only relegate one team?
