  • What a delightful player is Craig Overton !

More than once he's kicked down the stumps in a big paddy which surely must mirror a tennis player throwing his racket during a match but seemingly no admonishment from the umpire today.

Then he's had a right go at said umpire when a decision didn't go his way.

In addition he appears to have a problem with Muyeye, trying to stare him down and muttering in his direction whenever possible.

Isn't there a warning process akin to a yellow card in first class cricket ?
The Overton brothers have been a mouthy couple going all the way back to their County age group playing days by all accounts. Hopefully Craig will get a Level 1 against him at the least.
  • Warwickshire 185-2

Gloucs 51-1 so 58 ahead of Yorkshire
  • DBD's middle stump is sent cartwheeling for 36 (52)

    251-3

    Denly 33* (50)
  • 2nd batting point.

We started at 134 points 3 bowling points plus 2 batting points takes us to 139 points, 19 points ahead of Warwickshire at the moment.

With 7 wickets in hand we should pick up a minimum of 1 more batting point, hopefully 2 maybe even 3.
  • Rain stopped play at 265-3 off 58.2

    Denly 38* (59)
    Leaning 8* (14)

  • Not so good news is that Gloucs are 86-5 and just 93 ahead
  • Warks 214-4. They've only had 61 overs in a day and a half, because of rain
  • Warks 214-4. They've only had 61 overs in a day and a half, because of rain
Don't really want them getting 400 plus but, by the same token, our match is very much in our own hands

They'd have to bat well into tomorrow to get 400 plus, and have to bowl Hampshire out twice to win in probably a day and a half...

They are playing though and 228-4 with potentially another 36 overs left in the day. If there's no rain and they aren't all out they should be 350 plus by close of play. We aren't going down anyway!

  • Players back out in our game
  • And straight back off again as it starts to rain
  • Torn between rooting for Gloucs as it'd be hilarious if Yorkshire went down, and simply rooting for Warwickshire to get a full-bonus-point win and still go down, because they're Warwickshire. Whoever loses, we all win, I think it can be agreed
  • Back out and Denly caught on the boundary immediately for 38 (60)

    266-4
  • 302-4

    3rd batting point
  • Warwickshire 272-4 at tea

    Gloucs 110-5 and 117 ahead
  • Catching a little bit of this. Insane that Kent couldn't keep Robinson

    Gloucs 110-5 and 117 ahead
    Raining again at Edgbaston

3 into 2 won't go and Robinson was dropped when all the others were available namely Compton, Crawley, Denly, Leaning, Cox and Billings and no place in the T20 squad either. With Billings and Robinson both wanting the England red ball keeping job there wasn't much that Kent could offer Robinson.
  • 350-4

    A 4th batting point

    Leaning out for 41

    354-5
  • Still raining at Edgbaston

    Gloucs 153-5 and 160 ahead
  • Robinson bowled for 52

    355-6 and a lead of 153
  • Every Kent batsman has scored decent runs, but will feel they should have gone on to score more.

Good to see the ball turning, for when we have to bowl again
  • Notts declared on 662-5. No less than four centurions.
  • Qadri at 8 isn't great, thankfully he isn't batting at 134-6!
  • Lurch Overton giving it large to our diminutive Quadri.

Perhaps we should call him Burger Boy .

Me mate used to play against their dad. Think they all played for North Devon and he wouldn’t win any popularity contests either! That’s the dad btw not my mate, he’s sound!
  • Evison out for 21 (31)

    391-7
