    I’m not dismissing the ones we have got who have got all of those things, but we haven’t got a squad of them at the moment, play like thst against Fleetwood and the crowd will turn on them, they won’t put up with it, that’s really not a good place to be.

    On the other side, Purrington has at least got something to contribute in the final third.
    When Matthews was a kid, or certainly in his early 20s, he was an attacking full back, which is why he was linked to big English clubs before he ended up at Celtic.  I think the unpleasant truth is he can't be arsed.

    The last 4 seasons he has been a league 1 squad player for 3 of them, the other one he was a regular, and one of our better players in the championship.  Its mental, he is clearly good enough if/when he wants to be.

    What you mean is he wasn’t on YOUR list. Listen to what Gallen said on Friday. If you are going to make things up, at least do your homework and make sure you don’t end up with egg on your face.

    That could end up being Aneke...... 

    This squad needs more detailed planning than we need a RWB or a CAM.

    We need two players, one left footed, that can take set pieces.  We need a captain and leader in the mould of Kinsella, it doesn't matter where they play.  We need a couple of players who have the desire to improve, lead by example in their professionalism, that are credible with the other players. 

    That could be as many as 5 players, or as few as 2 or 3 but those qualities would make more difference than a better x or y. 

    We do, still, how ever need another striker, preferably a Washington but better type.

    I have been told (and I have no reason to doubt this) that we have been after Aneke for some time, weeks if not months. We certainly didn't get a call out of the blue on Thursday.

    Yet there were rumours of our interest in Aneke from people I know to have good links to the club (not club staff BTW) three weeks ago.

    In another Forum you have claimed we are after Joe Pigott. Why not name him here?

    You really don't help yourself by trying to imply you have an inside track.

    I never claim to be itk, but sometimes I have correctly predicted an incoming as I did with George Dobson last summer. It was just I knew he was the type of player we needed who had become available. 

    I enjoy the speculation and like putting names out there. I suspect 90% of the time I am completely wrong.

    I was told about Chuks in December, I even hinted at it a couple of times... This is one that we've been working on for a while.

    Surprised you don’t have Doughty on that list. One of the few ex players that would fit our formation.
