Everyone knew Ramsay would miss. Fresh legs for pens never work

Why do managers do it to themselves? Never bring people on fresh for pens.
Roofe scored after just coming on.
Ramsey's penalty was just shit. He could have been playing the whole game and he still would have taken a shit penalty.

Personally thought Roofe should of come on earlier as a forward but i think he had only started training last week from an injury. Ramsey is always injured however

Bassey MotM by a mile. Absolutely brilliant performance.
    Can't believe that he's only 22.

Got to doff cap to rangers to come that far is a miracle
no way they can get to a Europa final again in our lifetimes
    Miraculous to get there

Incredible run from Rangers to get there. And Frankfurt too. They both beat sides they had no right to on paper and unlike most top level finals it really meant something to both of them as neither have been there for a while and neither are going to be there again anytime soon.

Feel really sorry for Rangers, especially Aribo for obvious reasons and Ramsey too, who might have lucked out on £400k a week at Juve but he's had some blows in his career.

Been some week for penalty shoot outs!

Yes and Covered End Junior (now 27) called it before Ramsey missed.

The Nigerian who was born in Italy and had a 5 year youth career at Leicester is such a powerful and strong player.
He was awesome tonight and has impressed on every occasion I have seen him this season. His first season of getting games at 22.

I have seen 3 German victories from penalty shoot outs in the last 5 days if you include Klopp being in charge of Liverpool.

Frankfurt with 5 commanding penalties tonight plus I watched ET and penalties with Germany beating a Spanish side in the Girls European final U17 where the German  keeper was 6ft tall and kept guessing the right way to dive. Defo will improve the woman's game when the 6ft netball or basket ball players decide to try being keepers which is still the position that needs to improve.

Tough on Rangers, but overall i thought Frankfurt were the better side though. Frankfurt's 5 pens were absolutely superb though.

Even the best players can miss penalties in shoot outs though. Baggio 94 world cup, Lampard and Gerrard at the 2006 world cup, i think Maradona missed one at Italia 90, Pearce and Waddle obviously did. Then half our team missed them at the last Euro's.

Rangers were better side I thought proud etc but no one remembers runners up - was a fantastic journey but ultimately had good chances and Kent should of buried it.

Bringing players on for pens is a ridic idea, Southgate lost us the euros by doing it, GVB May of done the same for gers.

cup final Saturday which they should win so won’t be a completely trophyless season

Need to pick themselves up as the season will ultimately overall look a bad one if they win nothing.

    Was really impressed with him.

Wanted Rangers to win but having realised a good few of their players were Bin Dippers in the post-match interviews...

I only saw last 15 minutes and then extra time but from that sample I thought Rangers looked a lot more threatening than Frankfurt.

Glad Frankfurt won though but as others have said, bringing on players just for a shootout is a load of bollox. There is enough pressure on them already without the expectation of being a penalty specialist who is only there for this one moment.

It's the second time they've got there in about 14 years. They had one player that's played in two European finals for Rangers.

It's more the fear of allowing an exhausted 120min player take one.

They shit themselves and get desperate.

    Penalties are psychological

The players that played 120 mins scored 100% of their penalties.

I think the increase in pressure of coming on as a 'penalty specialist' is greater than the psychological exhaustion of playing  a whole game.

Conference league final tonight. Roma v Feyenoord.

Mourinho who has won all 4 of his previous Euro finals, becomes the first manager to lead 4 different teams in a European final.

What is laughable about this final though is that a) it's being held in Albania and b) the stadium capacity is 21k. Who on earth decided that was a good choice for a final?!

Roma and Feyenoord got 4k tickets each for the final, 4k!! Fair play to Roma though, they decided to give their tickets away free to season ticket holders in a ballot, with tickets also given to the 166 fans who travelled to a group stage match at Bodo Glimt and saw them get beat 6-1.

Feyenoord's first Euro final since 2002, Roma's first since 1991. Both clubs average over 40k at home games..............4k tickets each.

That's a really random location for a final. I suppose UEFA will say that they need to spread the finals around, but such a small stadium is daft.

The Valley can hold more spectators

There's a whole host of Gaelic league stadiums that have more capacity.

Looking forward to tonight - though agreed that it’s let down by such a poor location/ticket allocation.

Both fanbases will be treating this like a major event, and it’s a shame it’s not being given the platform it deserves in that sense.

I’ve followed Feyenoord closely over the last ten years and have a big soft spot for them. Their fanbase doesn’t take any prisoners, mind.
