c$203.9/L here in Vancouver (£1.20/litre) which is a record high, and everyone is going crazy.
Thankfully I live near the US border. Gas in Washington state currently 76p/litre.
$4 per gallon (67p per litre) here in Texas and everyone is losing their minds.
the US liquid gallon is a lot smaller than the Imperial (UK) gallon
Doesn’t change the litre price.
true .. BUT the poster 's conversion from gallon to litre was wrong .. and in the US, petrol is purchased per gallon not per litre
If we’re being pedantic, in the US, petrol, or even gasoline, is purchased in whatever volume you want to purchase it. It may be priced per US gallon but that’s a different matter.
I paid £1.859 yesterday in Sainsburys down by the O2, today i paid £1.719 in Newton Steward in Scotland. Someone is taking the piss.
prices round here (N E LINCS) are the same, @ £1.85 ish .. I guess the Scots Nat would put that lower price down to their excellent management of the Scots economy ((:>)
Local prices have gone down to £1.73/74 a litre .. of course still far too high
I did hear on tv today that lower demand has caused the price to drop. People are having to tighten their belts due to the high cost of living and are therefore driving less.

Currently down in Plymouth. On the way down here, I had to stop at a motorway service station which cost me £1:95.5 a litre so only got the bare minimum to get me here. Prices are £1:81 ish round here
Just back from Northern Ireland. Here's an indication of how we are being ripped off. 95 Octane petrol - Small petrol station attached to a Spar shop in a rural village, Stranocum: 165.9 Large Applegreen service area on M1 near Belfast: 174.5 Moto service area near Wetherby on the A1 in Yorkshire: 201.5 There can be no justification for these price differentials.
Comments
