Charlton Athletic vs Burton AlbionSaturday 19th March 2022 - 3pm Kick-OffReferee: Rebecca WelchIntroductionThe Addicks finally returned to winning ways on Tuesday night with a well deserved win over Kent side: Gillingham - Despite another nervy start, Charlton quickly took control of what was an important fixture, and an Alex Gilbey goal shortly before half-time ensured that the points wouldnt be heading back down the A2... We stay in SE7 this coming weekend, its Football for a Fiver once again, with Burton Albion heading down from Staffordshire.
The OppositionName: Burton Albion (14th) | Manager: Jimmy Floyd HasselbainkGround: Pirelli StadiumPrevious Meeting: Burton Albion 0-1 Charlton AthleticThese two sides last met in mid-November; Charlton were three games into the stewardship of Johnnie Jackson, and fans were able to think about moving upwards in the League Table - We were travelling to Burton off the back of what was a deserved draw against Rotherham United. Whilst it turned out to be a challenging, and briefly, bad tempered game against the Brewers, the Addicks narrowly deserved the three points, courtesy of an in form Ben Purrington goal.
As already mentioned, this Saturday allows for a second reunion between Jayden Stockley and Deji Oshilaja. Who like last time, will probably be unable to contain their joy at seeing each other again, unsurprisingly Trevor Kettle didnt see their warm embrace that way, and both received their marching orders.
Since that encounter; Burton have been a proper mid-table side, they've spent the season occupying the positions between 10th - 15th, and apart from a spell in January, where the Brewers went without losing in four games, have never really been able to put a serious run of form together. They come into this game having beaten Fleetwood Town 3-2 last Saturday, so will have had a longer break than the Addicks. Yet have just four away victories all season, their last coming at the end of January, defeating Lincoln City; 2-1.
Charlton Team NewsIts certainly a relief to see players returning, and as a result, its no surprise to see results picking up once again - Tuesday night saw a return to the line up for Conor Washington and Corey Blackett-Taylor, both have been absent of late with hamstring injuries, so could well have their minutes managed, and so avoid a recurrence of any injuries.
Elsewhere and Jake Forster-Caskey made a welcome return for the U23s in midweek. The experienced midfielder has been a big loss this term, and expects to appear for that age group on one more occasion before being available for first team duties. So could well be back amongst the team ahead the visit of Lincoln City, or at worst, the newly re-arranged trip to AFC Wimbledon.
MacGillivray
Clare - Lavelle - Famewo
Jaiyesimi - Dobson - Purrington
Fraser - Gilbey
Stockley - Washington
Substitutes Bench: Harness - Pearce - Gunter - Blackett-Taylor - Lee - Burstow - Leko
PredictionWhilst matters weren't completely perfect on the pitch on Tuesday night, there were signs of a team that really shouldn't be in the position that they find themselves in - It surely helps the whole squad, given the fact that we have our most lethal strike pairing back, and so expect another positive result come 7pm tomorrow afternoon.

I'll have to miss this game as well due to Covid
Bet he'd be arguing with his Dad as to why he got brought back after seeing us for a second time.
It's quite a nice feeling after what feels like 4 seasons of every game mattering. Would have been better if it was about a month later because we had wrapped up promotion already.

All the wonders and opportunities that this glorious world avails to us?
See you at 3 CL
1-1
With players returning from injury I expect us to struggle to a 2 1 victory.
Still can't wait for the season to finish though
Hopefully not as cagey as Gillingham and we play with the vigour and urgency we had at the start of Jacksons reign and give the fans something to cheer about. JFH just annoys me for some reason so us beating him would make me happy!
2-0 Charlton. CBT (deserves a goal) and Stockley
