I don’t even think the goalie really made a mistake for the goals. The back heel was quick and unexpected, and don’t think she could have got any higher on the lob shot.
For the lob, it's the goalie equivalent of "legs are gone", as she should have been able to spring higher

I think you can maybe just about forgive the backheel one, but the goalkeeping for the chip was undeniably poor.
Obviously it’ll bring out the critics of the womens game to gleefully slag it off, which is a shame.
But players, male and female, have good and bad performances. Earps was excellent and Lindahl was not. That’s the truth of it.
  • Anyone else see John Terry in Lucy Bronze?
    Wouldn't surprise me

When England score an own goal in the 5th minute, it'll all be part of the cunning plan
  • Anyone else see John Terry in Lucy Bronze?
    He wishes, the randy bastard

What do you think the score would be if the England mens team played the women's? 40-0?

    Study biology you Muppet.
  • Yay got a ticket for Sunday!
  • Anyone else see John Terry in Lucy Bronze?
    Can't believe I said this.

    It's not as though I don't know how CL works - just a moment of weakness I s'pose  :|

I think Lindahl was just near enough broken at that point, regardless of gender I think she was suffering the football equivalent of shell shock and had a bad day.

Absolutely outstanding and the level of football has been really good throughout the whole tournament.

This England side oose class. They without question 100% want this. They have all the characteristics to bring it home.
  • Anyone else see John Terry in Lucy Bronze?
They could be brother and sister.
  • Some people just will not let this just be about the football !

The Swedish keeper had a poor game tonight. Earp's has made one mistake this tournament when she missed her punch.
The Young Dutch keeper was the best keeper I have seen in the Euro's.

Lucy Bronze is a mediocre defenders but her strength is attacking. We are getting the breaks and Daley had a strong game tonight despite being right footed at LB.

I tipped France to win the Euro's because of their pace, if Germany can beat them in tomorrow's semi final then England can beat Germany at Wembley.

England can't afford to be that nervous in the 1st 15 minutes in the final. Mary Earp's save after 20+ seconds and again at 2-0 meant we ran out comfortable winners.

Both Bronze and White have had top careers but they should both be replaced after this Tournament because Russo is ready to become the main striker and teams keep getting beyond Lucy as I said would happen when she charges forward.

Just pleased that Male dinosaurs who wanted smaller goals for woman's football can shut the fuck up now. I enjoyed watching the game from the sofa end tonight and feel woman's football will continue to get stronger with more females watching and young girls playing.

Don't compare, just enjoy an England team being successful.

Women keepers these days probably aren’t much smaller than male keeper in the middle of the C19th:

I guess Emma Hayes, one of the most iconic and successful women's football managers of all time, is classed as a 'dinosaur' then in that case:

  • What's promising for English women's football, is that while we had a generation who were a decent team, as that generation starts to decline, we have even better up and coming players, who are taking England to another level.
  • Keep your eyes open for the German Manager tomorrow.
    I swear it’s Jürgen klinsmann’s sister

Hayes is a great coach but didn't she say that in 2019 which I find strange as I went to watch Chelsea v Man City woman around that time at Kingstonian and it was 0-0 because both keepers were brilliant.

It won't happen as the young tall Dutch keeper showed when tipping the ball over the cross bar on numerous occasions. The Germany u18 keeper is 6ft and the goals needed to be made bigger as the Spanish penalty takers couldn't score despite putting the ball in the corner of the goals in the Euro U18's.

The game has moved on and nothing needs to change as younger and better players will continue to join the pro ranks. The six footers who used to play Netball will become keepers as the money keeps increasing in woman's football.

Indeed are the girls now playing football, ones who might have played other sports like netball or hockey instead? Or athletics, which as a sport seems to have gone backwards in the public eye.

After all I remember my primary school days, where the boys played football and the girls netball, and unless girls play more sport full stop, presumably football has to be at the expense of something else.
  • Incidentally our record since she took over is now:

    P18 W16 D2 F100 A4.

    Incredible.
We now have a +100 goal difference since Wiegman took over. In just 19 games!
  • One thing i've noticed is that compared to other countries, England seem to have a lot more quality coming off the bench. Other countries have some good players but when you go beyond the XI, the quality drops off where as we seem to be bringing players on who you could argue should be starting. Russo is a good example.

    I thought that, too.

Is that one of those dodgy films on the internet
  • That Russo goal was the first time I’ve leapt in the air since the winning goal in the play off final!
    really ?!?!?!
