I am happy we have Germany. France looked a better side with some real threats but the difference was two class finishes from the German Girl whereas France were a bit raw offensively. We know the germans will be well organised and a tough match but if France are on song they look harder to stop although they are more than capable of stopping themselves. As they did today to a certain degree.

France lost their main striker Katoto to injury in one of the group games, 26 goals in 32 internationals. Might have been different if she was there.
I wanted Germany to beat France as the French would have exposed both Bronze and Daley on the flanks with their pace and Daley Is a great Athlete and fast but she is Right footed playing at LB.
England have more talent than Germany BUT the serial winners of the Women's Euro's will be all over England like a rash.
Lena Oberdorf the 20 year old is the most mobile midfielder and she will steam into Keira Walsh to stop her long passes; She will steam into everybody !
Alexander Popp at 31 is in the form of her Life and her two goals were excellent centre forward play.
Jules Brand 19 is talented and mobile and Sara Dabritz 27 is a top player.
England are the team with the Flair on the ball but have weaknesses out of possession.
Germany negate teams and against both Spain (I was at Brentford and took notes !) and France they suffocated them with their closing down.
Some of the German team are just workman like but they know they can't let England play and they won't.
50/50 match but History will have to be made for England to lift the cup.
The above is spot on. Who is the ref? Going to need to be on point as Oberdorf could be too eager & needs to be properly marshaled. Be a shame if she were sent off 😜
Thought France did what France always seem to do, blow it at the final hurdle.
Hard to say who would have been the easier game. The French have so much pace up front but their defence has looked absolutely awful this tournament. Renard looks like a spent force and I feel like the improvement in the women's game has levelled her a bit. She looked literally unstoppable against part-timers but now she's playing against proper footballers being the biggest player on the pitch isn't really enough. Mbock Bathy has been exposed repeatedly as well, and allowing Popp to go up against her led to both the goals they conceded. Perisset has been the closest thing to a shithouse this tournament has had but I don't think she would have had a great time against Hemp; early booking and she's out of the game, and Karchaoui has never defended in her life. Given the front three we're capable of putting out I really think we would have won the midfield battle against them and exposed their defenders far more than they could have ours, especially as I wouldn't have been surprised to see Greenwood start ahead of Daly for that match.
Germany don't have the same ability to expose with pace on the counter but they're much more methodical and they do know how to get the ball forward quickly. One thing that was noticeable last night though is that their defenders are very capable of being pressured into a mistake with good pressing, especially as the game wears on. I'm sure we'll start White to press the defenders early on along with Hemp and Mead, and once Russo and Toone come on we'll hopefully start inducing more and more of that panic at the back. Bright should be the one picking up Popp and I'm sure she'll have a less fun time than she's had so far this tournament, especially in the air. Should be a good match either way, it's definiely one we're capable of winning if we're at it.
France made a lot of wrong offensive calls. It is criminal IMO when you have a player like Renard in the box, that you head at goal rather than loop one in for her to win.
I know it’s a kid making the point here, but I do think this suggestion that “all the men dive, and the women don’t” is just a bit lazy and inaccurate.
Just enjoy the women’s game for the product it is. No need to keep comparing it.

I’ve never understood the comparisons between the womens and mens games. Just like I don’t go and watch Greenwich Borough and compare them to Real Madrid you just enjoy it on its own merit. However it is undeniable that there is less play acting and general cheating in the womens game right now and that makes it very refreshing and enjoyable to watch.

Just desperate to boost the women's game, even if it means taking digs at men's (the most popular sport in the world btw). Sad really, when the women's game has plenty going for it.
I've seen instances of playacting in the Euros anyway, players collapsing to the floor clutching their face after the slightest of touches.
And as for incidents like the Rivaldo one, it's VAR which has removed them as if that happened today, VAR would ask the ref to reconsider the decision (and probably book Rivaldo instead!)
Not sure what point is proved by bringing up something that happened at a World Cup twenty years ago.
If England win on Sunday, then I’ll be delighted for the team - but no doubt we’ll have to listen to a load of tenuous comparisons to what Southgate did/didn’t do last year blah blah blah.

Like Gary says, anything to have a dig.
I wonder sometimes why people even bother watching football. It seems to bring them only more misery into their already miserable lives.

Lucy Bronze talking about how she has to play with knee pain now, which perhaps explains why she isn't the player she once was
