I know there are bigger talking points about referees right now, but there are couple of things about refereeing in this World Cup that are puzzling me which nobody seems to be talking about. I’m thinking specifically of:
1) Surrounding and hassling the referee. Senegal were particularly aggressive with this in the Belgium match, but it’s been pretty common from a few teams.
2) Waving an imaginary card to suggest an opponent should be booked. Again, I’ve seen this a number of times.
I don’t think I’ve seen any punishments for these so far this tournament. Have the rules been relaxed or am I imagining this?2 -

Accidental for sure but I’d imagine there’s a threshold of how dangerous a tackle can be accidental or not

The most pathetic thing ive seen is the Mexicans running over to the ref to say about that Ecuadorian player putting his hand over his mouth. I would of sent off that sneak of a Mexican player dobbing in the Ecuadorian. I think it’s fair to say that France are by far the best attacking team in this tournament. Whether they are going all the way depends on how that defence holds up against a decent attack.0 -

Yeah but they have been there for awhile so even those not used to it before have now become acclimatised. Takes a few weeks. Worst part is the first 2 to 5 days apparently.Sword65pf said:

Anyone had direct experience of altitude sickness before? Tapped it in to Google and these symptoms do seem debilitating. If too many players fall ill just before or during the game that could be the least damaging way, reputationally, to exit the competition.
