I am sick of the BBC trash reporting.
A headline like thisEngland sneak through - but who had a nightmare start?

I know there are bigger talking points about referees right now, but there are couple of things about refereeing in this World Cup that are puzzling me which nobody seems to be talking about. I’m thinking specifically of:
1) Surrounding and hassling the referee. Senegal were particularly aggressive with this in the Belgium match, but it’s been pretty common from a few teams.
2) Waving an imaginary card to suggest an opponent should be booked. Again, I’ve seen this a number of times.
I don’t think I’ve seen any punishments for these so far this tournament. Have the rules been relaxed or am I imagining this?2 -

Accidental for sure but I’d imagine there’s a threshold of how dangerous a tackle can be accidental or not
Messi did the same thing a few weeks ago and nothing happened so the lack of consistency is a problem1 -
It's called soccer now bitches!!!!!!!3

Hoping Belgium properly show up next game and knock USA out.5

The most pathetic thing ive seen is the Mexicans running over to the ref to say about that Ecuadorian player putting his hand over his mouth. I would of sent off that sneak of a Mexican player dobbing in the Ecuadorian. Like a school child saying "sir sir he said something mean to me sir.." bloke really pissed me off..lordromford said:I know there are bigger talking points about referees right now, but there are couple of things about refereeing in this World Cup that are puzzling me which nobody seems to be talking about. Very little sportsmanship in football - sets a dreadful example.Karim_myBagheri said:

Congo all surrounded the ref and waved imaginary cards when Kane was surmised to take a dive yesterday. He should have obliged and shown a yellow to every single one of themKarim_myBagheri said:

Their keeper is a bit dodgy too I think. You’d think better teams will test him more.Laddick01 said:
Agreed. Senegal arguably the only half decent team they’ve played and it was quite close. The Red Robin said:
They certainly look good against the opposition they’ve played.Rothko said:France are a bit good aren't theyThought they struggled first half against Senegal though.
Norway’s side without all their superstars caused them defensive issues too.
I think it’s fair to say that France are by far the best attacking team in this tournament. Whether they are going all the way depends on how that defence holds up against a decent attack.0 -

All I’ve seen today is how Mexico are going to hammer England etc etc.
A lot of this from England fans too. Really is silly season.1 -

If Mexico turn it on I can see us losing easily.Either way, I cannot see us beating Brazil and Argentina in the next rounds to progress to the final. This side of the draw has been so much harder than the passage that Portugal and others have.0

But Mexico have played a lot of guff in the Azteca, no doubt the altitude gives them that advantage, although how many of the Mexico squad regularly play in that condition?, surely the ones that don’t , Jimenez for example will have to acclimatise as well?ElfsborgAddick said:CharltonManor1966 said:Well even if we do the Azteca is very high altitude and I can see some of our lads blowing out of their arses by the first hydration break.Mexico have lost only 2 out of 89 competitive games at the Azteca, an incredible record.I feel that the higher altitude, travel, and that Mexico have had an extra day to prepare will be too much for England. Yeah but they have been there for awhile so even those not used to it before have now become acclimatised. Takes a few weeks. Worst part is the first 2 to 5 days apparently.Sword65pf said:

is there a reason so many players are wearing pink boots?1

Sabitzer with the no 9 shirt is a disgrace1

Anyone had direct experience of altitude sickness before? Tapped it in to Google and these symptoms do seem debilitating. If too many players fall ill just before or during the game that could be the least damaging way, reputationally, to exit the competition.
"Symptoms of Altitude SicknessRisks for England Players- Quicker Fatigue: Reduced oxygen uptake significantly lowers a player's aerobic capacity, forcing faster heart rates and quicker fatigue during high-intensity pressing or sprinting. [1, 2]
- Cognitive Impact: The brain requires heavy oxygen during intensive play; fatigue and lower blood oxygen levels can impact perception and split-second decision-making. [1]"...

The irony is, gesturing at the away fans for 90 mins, barely watching the game and "getting the badge in" is just as performative.EugenesAxe said:
