They made a huge song and dance about how 9 of the 10 African teams made the knockout stages, however by this time tomorrow it might only be Morocco left in
Of the 16 spots they added to the tournament, the majority of them went to Africa and Asia.

The fact that by this year’s round of 16, the first knockout round in prior tournaments, you might have:

    1 Asian confederation team (Australia)
    1 African confederation team (Morocco)
3 North American confederation teams (all hosts)
    4 South American confederation teams
    7 European confederation teams

compared to three Asian and two Africa sides in the last 16 four years ago, it makes a bit of a mockery of giving 10 extra places to Africa and Asia.

Your ticket would be worth a fortune Bob. The other two not so much if they've got to sit next to you.  ;)

I totally get your sentiment Bob and at this stage agree 100%... HOWEVER .... if we do get there and I was faced with a decision of either £60k in my pocket or 90 mins watching us being tonked by the French Im not sure my resolve would hold so fair play to you mate

So what law will they change to keep Ronaldo involved in the competition next.
That decision is one of the most ridiculous I’ve ever seen.

Nobody in the world can see that touch.
Defender heads it after too, that wasn't mentioned on the highlights
Yes I am still wondering about that and I was at the match. Very entertaining but glad I wasn’t “invested” in either team. Also pleased to avoid too many angry and upset Croatians afterwards.

Re altitude sickness, I’ve spent time in Mexico City and felt no impact whatsoever - albeit I wasn’t participating in professional sport. Mexico City is at 2200m, very different from, say, Bolivian Altiplano at 4000m plus. Now I did have the headache from hell and a few other side effects there.

I’m more concerned about them getting a decent sleep for a night or two before the match - no way will their hotel location remain secret.

    Getting nervous already.
La Paz is pretty high, went up a mountain just north west from there...just had a bit of a headache I think it was around 16,000+ feet up (2001). Went to Mexico City back in 98 and can't recall any issues, but then I wasn't running around that much.

England stars allowed by WADA to use Viagra to help them cope at World Cup altitude

Are the Swiss the most mediocre football nation? It’s not that there’s anything bad or unlikable about them, they’re just always so instantly forgettable. Their players are always fine but lacking anything remarkable. Their style of play is always fine but lacks any particular personality. And they usually beat everyone you’d likely expect them to and then get knocked out as soon as they play someone they’re expected to lose to. Even their kit is just plain red.

    I'll counter that with Austria.

    Bloody hell!

If England get to the final (I know, BIG if) we have three together at the NY/NJ Stadium. How much would they be worth? (they wouldn't be for sale I might add).

Tickets were going for 3k for the Brazil v Scotland game.  No doubt this was not a one off.
To be honest I reckon you would EASILY get 20k for all three tickets together.

And with the pubs allowed to open until 5am plenty of time to drown sorrows afterwards.

    Moving Brazil Norway also.

Waiting for a FIFA announcement and I guarantee it’s got fuck all to do with the weather.
Advertisers dream showing that at 7pm instead of 1am.

The BBC will be pleased, they can charge more for the adverts during the broadcast.

Depends what market, noon in Mexico will be a lot worse for them commercially I'd imagine

Apparently there was a risk of flooding. I’ve seen at least one journalist get caught in a Mexican flood this WC

Is Mexico that big a draw on the other side of the channel?
