So what stopped VAR getting involved when the Spanish player was kicked by the French player (Olise?) which should have been booked, which was more of a yellow card challenge than the first one? At least on the first one the french defender did get the ball first but trod on Spanish player's foot in the follow through?WattsTheMatter said:
They did, when no card was given - wasn't aware that was something VAR could do?ForeverAddickted said:Did VAR just take away a French Free Kick
Look forward to seeing how they explain that.
Maybe the VAR should have refereed the game between Scotland and Morroco and France V Paraguay. Those games had the same shit awful referee.1 -
Spain have worked them out, such an intelligent team. The thing we have in our favour is that we blow hot and cold, we are completely unpredictable. If we get past Argentina, I fancy our chances.4

Why? It's not as if Spain are huge underdogs here to make up the numbers, they're the European champions!Laddick01 said:Playing at 100% France are the best team in the world.Spain are decent, but if France go out here it’s a win for whoever goes through tomorrow.
Plus they are very difficult to break down, in the entire tournament so far they've only conceded 7 shots on target.4 -
If you meet either of those attacks and defences at their very best, France win.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I think as much as Spain are quality, it’s much better dealing with Oyazarbal, Lamal and Olmo than Mbappe, Dembele and Olise.0 -
Both sides falling over like they’ve been shot!!, fucking cheats, play football you fuckers!!!4

Porro.
At Spurs, he drives me fucking nuts. He has no positional sense for a full back and is always left chasing wingers who get in behind him.
For Spain, he looks like a proper right back who can defend.
He's got such a punchable face and looks like a lady boy!12 -
Spain have effectively blunted the attack of Mbappe, Djembrle and Olise. Hard to see Eze and Madueke even touching the ball (if we go through)!0
-
I’ve been calling us bang average all tournament, Bellingham and Kane apart mostly, but I actually feel like we should really concentrate on ourselves and we could beat all of these sides on our day.1

Just over an hour ago I was sure France would win the World Cup fairly comfortably, now they are going out with a whimper.0

France being outplayed by the first decent team they’ve played. Shock.4

Porro, Romero, Spence all WC semifinalists. Porro scoring just now.JohnBoyUK said:Porro.

Turns out "just pass it to the good attackers" doesn't work this deep in the tournament with these defenders

Infantino currently wanking himself into a stupor over the thought of his golden child winning the WC on US soil.

I said a few days ago, that while France have been excellent, the other 3 sides all had room for improvement. But could they improve?
In the case of Spain, a definite yes.3 -

I'm always confused to see him playing for Spain because he seems so very Argentinian.JohnBoyUK said:Porro.

France can't get near them. It's too easy for the Spanish.1

Extra time. Calling it now0

They look so comfy I’m hoping our randomness causes them problems if we get there

I love watching this Spain team. The Dutch must wonder how another nation has completely perfected Cruyff/Neeskens/Michels style.3
