I’m enjoying the French pregame arrogance now.
I wonder how ‘Gerard’ feels now?

Masterclass of a performance from Spain. Never allowed France to settle and restricted them to hardly any chances.

Rodri is still in a class of his own as the worlds best DM.

Spain have been decent, but the French simply haven't turned up. No reason we can't win on Sunday if we get through tomorrow.
I think the Spanish dedicate 85% of their energy in stopping the opposition. It's Jonesball on a whole new level.

Are England better in a more tactical battle vs Spain or having to try and nullify the best attack at the tournament.

Neither option is easy, but this is the one I’d prefer.

Rodri, Olmo and Ruiz against Rice, Bellingham and Anderson is some match up if we get there.

Imagine someone saying 10 days ago that we would be in the World Cup longer than the French.

    France were miles off it.

    Rodri absolutely dominated their midfield.

Total surrender from the French at the end there.

France are now 2.56 (roughly 6/4 in old money) to win the WC. Which makes them about 1.60 to beat, potentially, Spain in the semi and then 1.60 again to beat England in the final. Not much beat on the bone there especially as France have only beaten Spain twice in their last 10 meetings. History is riddled with the best team not winning major tournaments.

France have now beaten Spain just twice in their last 11 meetings.

Surprise result of the tournament? Both quite pedestrian overall. Certainly nothing there to scare Argentina.

Let’s not get carried away, we have to win tomorrow night. That is a huge game.

I dream of Nathan Jones even trying to keep
    possession.

Spain purring…Rodri is back to controlling best. That defence will take some beating.

But when Garner's team did, all I could hear at The Valley was: "GET IT FORRWAARRDD!!"

Was great to see that France midfield fall apart when they finally came up against worthy opposition.

Tchoumanei and Rabiot are solid enough, but way below the likes of Rodri.

Swap the 2 midfielders from each side and that game is a rout.

Lucky we have the best striker and best number 10 in the world... I'd fancy us to have about 4% possession and do them on the counter

So it’s Spain against England or Argentina. If it’s us I think it’ll be the hardest game England have played in recent history, but I think it’s well winnable!
Come on England, it’s ours to lose! (As long as we turn over Argentina).

Pissing me off all the pundits saying France never performed! They weren’t allowed too ffs the Spanish totally bossed them from the ko. Stand off the French and they destroy you, pass and move, be quicker in intensity they don’t know what to do

    well done Spain

Spain clearly are a good team but it has increased our chances of winning now the French are out.
All academic now but they are definitely the best team in this tournament.

Kante is in the French squad, but 35 now. Exactly who they missed tonight, prime Kante would have transformed the French midfield.

Of course we have to get through tomorrow, but probably the better result for us. Spain are a good solid team but they don't have the firepower of the French. I would have made us clear underdogs against France, against Spain i think it's 50/50.
