Spain outclassed France well deserved win2

Cubarsi at 19 is some player. Yamal gets mentioned a lot for being that age, rightly so, but Cubarsi is exceptional.9

Both shit managers though. The Red Robin said:Gary Neville getting shown up a bit by Vieira. Overrated pundit Neville.
Shame Palace didn’t stick with Vieira a bit longer…5 -
Just heard something that I think sums that game up perfectly.
"France looked like a team who hadn't needed a plan B before"
That's where England have an edge in this tournament, we've won using plan a, b & c13 -
Spain get to their second ever World Cup final. Will they be joined by England, also aiming for their second ever final, or Argentina who want their 6th final appearance?2
-
Well surprised as I was convinced France were the likely outright winners. I don't think they ever recovered from the shock of the penalty award.0

Didn’t see anything from the French in that game to worry us on Saturday31

Mbappe for all his brilliance isn't a classic number 9. They had Mateta on the bench, why not play him down the middle alongside Mbappe, and go more direct for example?1 -
I mean, france brought on a palace centre back and spain brought on pedri. Surprised spain were overlooked by most.5

High scoring game then!philcafc said:Of course we have to get through tomorrow, but probably the better result for us. Spain are a good solid team but they don't have the firepower of the French. I would have made us clear underdogs against France, against Spain i think it's 50/50.2 -

Exactly what I mean. I don’t even think it’s A,B and C it’s random as fuck and see what happens..fenaddick said:Just heard something that I think sums that game up perfectly.

Then we pass it off as Tuchel tournament tactics.
I love it.1 -

No, they taste of pizza. The French consume more pizza than the Italians.CaptainRobbo said:Do French tears taste of Garlic?1 -
They won't explain it. VAR can do whatever they want. In this World Cup they make up the rules as they go along.WattsTheMatter said:
They did, when no card was given - wasn't aware that was something VAR could do?ForeverAddickted said:Did VAR just take away a French Free Kick
Look forward to seeing how they explain that.1 -
Sorry, I had heard that somewhere.jimmymelrose said:

But it's wrong.
But the French must certainly eat the most shit pizza. Some places even put potatoes on it!

Not even sure how those are reached. I wouldnt trust Capita to complete anything accurately 😉.3 -
People were going over the top with France. Yes they looked good but Spain are a difficult team to play against especially if you try to beat them as they can pull you out of position and catch you out. I also recall a game against Senegal where France should have been 2 down at half time and that was down to poor finishing from the Africans and not great defending. They were not unbeatable like some were saying!2

France looked like they'd argued amongst themselves again. After Cape Verde Spain have snuck totally under the radar, only 1 goal conceded, tournament football seems to suit them well.

France were terrible but I don’t think that Spain were amazing (maybe they didn’t have to be).If we get through tonight I think we have a decent chance.2

Reading some of the reactions online you'd think France had just lost a semi final to someone like Switzerland or Sweden.
'Shock result', 'huge underdogs', 'surprising defeat'.
Have people forgotten Spain are ranked 2 in the world, above France, are European Champions (where they beat France in the semi) and had conceded 1 goal all tournament?
Personally i think Spain will be a tougher game for us than France because Spain keep the ball a lot better and don't give up many chances. Death by 1,000 passes with us chasing shadows for a lot of the game.
The one thing we can rely on though is that Tuchel will have a plan. He won the Champions league when his unfancied Chelsea side beat Man City in the final and i think we'd have to do something similar to that. Get the first goal, give up a lot of possession and dig in.
Of course, we still have a very tough job to do tonight first though.9 -
Spain were very good, although they were massively helped by the fact that France put a half fit Tchouameni and Rabiot against their midfield three.SuedeAdidas said:France were terrible but I don’t think that Spain were amazing (maybe they didn’t have to be).If we get through tonight I think we have a decent chance.
Spain will be favourites against whoever wins tonight, but if it's us we can try to do a better job than France did of disrupting that midfield and hitting them with counter attacks.1 -
French result is a warning to England. All the team need to turn up tonight.0

So they needed a time machine.killerandflash said:Kante is in the French squad, but 35 now. Exactly who they missed tonight, prime Kante would have transformed the French midfield.

Completely this! That was a masterclass in tactics from Spain. They never gave France a moment of peace on the ball, closed every space, and attacked with speed and control. We may not get past Argentina, but the idea that Spain are an easy option is simply foolish. I was rooting for France from half time having seen how Spain controlled that match.AndyG said:Pissing come off all the pundits saying France never performed! They weren’t allowed too ffs the Spanish totally bossed them from the ko. Stand off the French and they destroy you, pass and move, be quicker in intensity they don’t know what to do
well done Spain
Ah well. Gotta beat the Argies tonight before we worry about Spain.2
