Im fine with hydration breaks. Just make them 1 minute long and tell tv companies that they cannot show ads.

Am running a campaign for a client throughout the tournament... If the players can have an xG ranking, then I figured that the managers should have something too....hence the xC (expected cliche) ranking.. If you're a fan of soundbites and seeing who the most original communicator of the tournament is, go have a quick look here: https://expectedclichetracker.com/ Thanking you.

1 minute is quite enough, as it's meant to be a hydration break, not a time out for the coaches to change tactics.

Adverts are down to local TV. I remember watching games in Thailand, where they showed adverts at any tiny gap, e.g. before a corner.

Blimey you can tell that's AI...

Doha's looking-glass: Lopetegui's clichés surge on a historic point as Yakin's wilt on two dropped

A fine line in gobbledygook there Charlie.  :D

Fifa seeks explanation over VAR official's hand gesture

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cy9rd8g1lwzo

Definite deliberate gesture when you watch the video. Also he glances to one of his colleagues near the end of the clip, so is he warning there's an issue with his colleague? Colleagues are not named in this report.

But who knew it was a white supremacy sign? (since later 2010s apparently, BBC says 2017)- not me, but that's an aside in the circumstances.

On the whole i'd say VAR has had plenty of good games so far, not getting over involved, if barely at all, in contrast to what we are used to. My frivolous view is they missed the attention, but this is deserving of a closer look.
