Speaking of Sutton, the standing tickets are selling pretty fast, about two-thirds gone in a bit over 3 days on sale. We don't know whether there might be further batches made available or if what's on sale is all there is, but anyone who particularly wants to be on the terrace should get a shift on, just in case. Seats are selling slower - still a couple of hundred of those available.
@Sage (our midweek previewer) is still enjoying his freedom, the mods cant seem to catch him regardless of how fast they run
Hows this for you
This is a side that finished their Southern League Division One campaign in 10th place last season - I imagine its because of their locality, but next season will see them taking part in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands, this puts them at level eight in the Football Pyramid, two Leagues below the National League North / South (so Welling United etc.)
A few quick facts:
- They're nicknamed the Saints, for obvious reasons no doubt. - 1966/67 saw the Saints reaching the FA Cup 1st Round (their one and only spell), but would lose 2-0 @ Walsall
Ex-players include our very own Josh Davison, who played two games (its Wiki so who knows) on loan for the Saints, whilst at Peterborough United, back in 2017, he didnt score... Matthew Spring is another, he represented St. Neots in the 2014/15 season, appearing 37-times, before moving to Hemel Hempstead Town.
Other notables include Steve Lomas and Gavin Strachan (Son of Gordon) who both ended their careers with the Cambridgeshire side.
I make it 22 senior players for Dartford on Saturday. Got to be a good while since we have had that amount of first team squad members for the opening (UK) friendly of the season
Comments
There'll probably a lot of palice at the game, so seems sensible.
Been strange though how there hasnt been any midweek games at least.
For example a Charlton XI will play at Hampton and Richmond on the 12th July
