I don't see us starting with Stockley and Leaburn up front. Aneke won't be ready for the bench which leaves no strikers available for the bench. With 5 subs, subs are very important and we might well finish with 2 up 2 but not start.
That’s logical but two up top is worth the gamble coz same old is not going to deliver anything - players used to be able to last 90 minutes so it’s not beyond question that at least 1 of these 2 can
We're such a weird team that I'm giving up predicting anything. What happened to the boys that smashed Plymouth, then went to Sheffield Wednesday and dominated them for 80+ minutes?
We cannot keep a clean sheet so Lincoln will score, and we have trouble scoring as we do not create enough. I have gone for 3-1 to Lincoln in the prediction league so sticking with that.
The only thing we’ve got going for us in terms of play is our build up and possession. Switching to 442 may jeopardise that unless you expect us to start banging goals in because of it.
To be honest I almost don’t care now, things have been on a downward spiral since Jan 2020 and there’s no sign of it changing, I’m with the majority who say it doesn’t matter what we do with this team they’re just not good enough, I argued in favour of positivity in pre season and it’s been proven wrong. Anyone else remember counting down the days and hours till 3:00pm Saturday, just depressing it really is.
Things have mostly been on a downward spiral since 2007.
Another tough game ahead. I think we might play well in this game and give Lincoln a good game. 2-1 to Lincoln but lots of postives to enthuse over as we slide closer to League 2.
I've no idea how we will line up. McGrandles shouldn't be in the team, but the rule of the ex means that he's bound to score and either a) respectfully not celebrate the goal, or b) cup his ear to the booing.
I am not an advocate of a flat 442 but if Lincoln are going to play 343, like they have done, I would play it today.
I would probably go 433 but with two center fowards and JRS as a winger. Saying that Morgan and McGrandle don't really deserve to start, after recent performances, so maybe 442, or as it will actually be 424, is the right way to go?
A defeat will spell the end for Garner. That’s not me saying I think that should happen, it would just be the next panic from TS trying to win the Champions League quickly. Not too sure where we get our next manager from, would be a desperate out of work nobody who would have to put up with TS junior coming to the training ground and practising volleys with his loafers on.
I hope we win and Garner goes on to bigger and better things, just can’t see it happening.

That’s it - genius - garner can pretend to still be playing 433 but with 2 centre forwards - will save face if it works 😂
Garner goes bold (not bald / but that could work too) and plays 4-4-2, we get overrun in midfield and lose 1-2. Garner under pressure, which should be 75% directed at the owner and the imbalanced recruitment.

I think Morgan should get a start personally (especially if JFC won't). He'd certainly be ahead of Payne or McGrandles.
I like the idea of a 4-2-4 because it means both the wingers and full backs can help the middle.

(Not that I think Clare's lack of effort recently deserves rewarding, but don't see Morgan or JFC starting)
Alternative option would be to put Jaiyesimi in the SS role he finished last game in, playing a 4-4-1-1
Wollacott Egbo - Inniss - O'Connell - Sessegnon
Rak Sakyi - Dobson - Morgan - B.Taylor
Jaiyesimi Stockley
Pretty sure DJ is out injured mate could be a couple of games at least ankle injury.
edit; here you go Garners quote ‘“He’s got damage to the ankle. He’s going to be in that protective boot for a good couple of weeks and rehab from there. It’s disappointing for DJ because he came on and had an impact on Saturday and he’d played a key role up until that point on Tuesday night’.
442 with 2 wingers worries me, as that'll leave the midfield overrun.
To play that you need 2 workhorses in midfield, or sacrifice one of your wingers for another midfielder, e.g. play Dobson, Morgan and Fraser with just one winger.
Another game that we again beat ourselves after battering them & only scoring 2…😳😂😂,then allowing them to walk in 2 late goals in 2nd half…🥺 ending in a 2-2 draw & slipping further down the table
I know it's still early doors in the season but I do think this is a massive game. Win and maybe the tide is turning, lose and the atmosphere will get worse and things could get nasty

3-1 and the joker in the pack will be a Diamond.
1-1
a) respectfully not celebrate the goal, or
b) cup his ear to the booing.
Prediction - another 1-1.

Fraser with all five
