That was almost a Messi goal. By an Aussie!0

Jesus what a run that was0

That block from Martinez was brilliant to deny a certain goal2

Shame he couldn't quite finish it off.1 -
killerandflash said:Messi's stats for Argentina aren't as good as you'd imagine. 94 goals, but only 50 of them were in competitive matches.
50 in 118 competitive matches compares pretty poorly with CR7's 98 in 142.
9 goals in World Cups is a low return too, considering the number of games he's played (22).
If Messi played for a European nation (say Spain for example) he'd probably have far more competitive goals.

How many times does Messi have to set up Martinez before he scores?0

Please let’s not refer to Ronaldo by his trademark name. It’s proper cringe.4 -
One man team Argies….. stuff them please Holland.0

Great display by Australia given how limited their squad is.
Messi keeping Argentina going...0 -
Couple of great chances near the end for Australia but i think as a football fan it's better to see Argentina progress.
Their fans are probably the best i've seen in this tournament and the game v Holland should be great to watch.2 -

Gary Lineker asked what the Argentinians were singing. I can tell you that one song they were singing a lot during the match was:
'El que no salta es un ingles'
'He who isn't jumping is English.'0 -

Several of the German teams played better, Mascherano played better.
