1. Despite the ref giving us 2 penalties he was absolutely lost. There must be better officials available at this level. If not, something is seriously wrong.
2. Southgate got it almost perfect. I didnt understand the Sterling sub though. He's effectively useless against a side that is parking th bus. I thought we could've put Grealish on there.
3. It's easy to blame Kane but that's a horrible situation. 2 penalties in a row against the only keeper that knows your routine. Clearly in his own head.
4. Imagine trolling your own fans on an English teams forum. Absolute wanker. Ban the bellend.
It's gutting but we've just outplayed the 2018 champions. Lots of young talent coming through and I can't wait to see us in the Euros.
Finally, as for Southgate, I've given him a lot of stick, but if he played with the same attacking intent as tonight I wouldn't mind him for another Euros. Regardless, he's helped a lot of English fans believe again and that's a pretty good Achievement.
Even getting back to 2 - 2 I think France looked more likely to do something in extra time. Saka, odd taking him off, but perhaps he was spent. Good thing about being CAFC, used to disappointment.
Just shows the luck you need to win a tournament. People lay into Southgate but one missed opportunity turns it all. Club managers get a chance to resolve that.
We played well. There’s just something in our DNA that hasn’t got that extra bit of steel, winning mentality, whatever it is. Gallant losers.
When you’re not got enough then you can’t do too much about it. But It’s 2-3 tournaments now we’ve had a real chance but just can’t get things over then line.
So gutted
Most of our best players are under 25. The academy system, much as we hate having our best youngsters picked off, is churning out lots and lots of talented players, and even our young players are already battle hardened and experienced in big games in big tournaments.
England have got a serious chance at at least the next 3 tournaments. We’ll win one eventually.

Saka for Grealish I could understand.
Sterling coming in was baffling. Hasn't had the minutes and just didn't fit the situation.
Southgate’s record is terrible when you look at the sides we’ve faced. Yes we got to the last WC semi and a euros final but we had very easy routes to both (bar a weak German side at the euros).
Get rid
Yeah lets go back to a McLaren, Hodgson, Capello - Or do you think the FA will ask the public who should be appointed next?
But of course the naive approach is we'll always hire better eh!!
Yeah I have no confidence that his successor would be chosen wisely tbf but I can’t help but feel he’s not getting the most out of this group
So unlucky. Best team lost. We bossed the current World Champions and left Mbappe without a single shot on target. Feel gutted for Harry Kane. It takes bottle and earns utmost respect to put your head on the block like he does. No blame, just respect. I hope the country puts an arm around him.
The most frustrating thing, I can’t think of a single one of our players that didn’t have a good game, and I didn’t actually think France were great shakes.

They played like England in the Euro Final
Got their goal, sat back and let us break them down - The trouble is when we got that goal, they instantly managed to raise their tempo and eventually took control back for five minutes, which included the Giroud goal.
Impressive really, as when you see a team sitting back for so long, you expect them to struggle to raise their game back to the levels required, but France almost did it with the flick of a light switch.

Sterling seemed to be playing wide right, even right wing back when he came on, which was odd

Kane's penalty has handed the world cup on a plate to the French IMO, they'll have the nous to play against and beat the Moroccans without being blasé and resting players, and I think they'll beat the Argies too.
I said before he took it, I would have chosen someone else to take it, the odds on him missing it/it being saved went up considerably on the second penalty, and he didn't even give a chance for Lloris to save it

I think that is because of how well we played.
Don’t think France will have a tougher game.
They need to rely on Walker taking Mbappe out of his pocket ready for Morocco
I absolutely hope Southgate stays on. We ain’t getting better. If there was they’d be on 300k a week in the prem.
Step aside Southgate who has never won anything in his managerial career and enter Chris Powell who has. I think he is the brains behind England's resurgence anyway.
Gutted, but at least after watching this current England side lose and go out, I am left feeling they gave their all and competed well against a very good opposition not always the case with previous groups. Was a very close game and was won and lost by fine margins. And still overall a young squad getting lots of tournament experience gives hope for the future.
Oh well back to watching the fall and fall of Charlton with the only consolation left being that I’m not Welsh. Baa baa

Three lions, we go again in 2 years 🏴
An the problem is, it only lasts for 90mins (99mins)
England will always be one of the best teams in the world. Always
We probably just won't ever be thee best
(For a few months)
Shouldn't have been on the pitch given he was on a yellow and made that foul from behind on the half way line earlier!!

I might be missing something here, but for neither of the G.O.A.T players to not win the world cup would be a travesty.
Though Morocco get my backing!
