I do hope that Edun is still signing as he is the only name linked that I think is up to much.
This very much seems like a shuffling of the pack and a lot of being hopeful that things work out.
A shuffling of the pack is about as ambitious as we can be right now though. We look like being lodged fairly firmly into midtable mediocrity for at least this season.

The kind of players who could potentially change that aren't going to come here mid-season realistically.

It works out for what?  Edun, Kane and even Ferguson are all out of contract in the summer, Bonne (and Wickham) are out of contract now.  If we signed all 5 either on loan or short term deals until the summer and made room by loaning Stockley and Kirk out, I would call that a window that makes sure we don't get relegated.

To get in the play offs we need championship winning form for 4 months. We might do it, we probably won't.  To expect anyone to gamble on doing it now is nieve at best.

Make sure we stay up, get a takeover done, plan for next year.  In that order.

I do kind of get that but I just think we’re shuffling chairs on the Titanic, as it’s not like the end of season plans look in any way more positive than the plans that seem to be currently there, for this window.

Well as I don't have a crystal ball to gaze into the future I will have to take your word for that.

If we do sign a left and right back that may free Sess' to go into midfield. If that were the case a midfield three of Dobson, Sess and Fraser would look pretty strong.
It might also mean Sess is going back to Fulham.

Hope not. I like him and would love to sign him permanently. Sadly that's not likely.
Brilliant player. Would be nice to keep him.

Stockley is better than Bonne in just about every way. That's not praising Stockley, by the way. The only reason people are vaguely positive about Bonne is Stockley's been a shadow of his usual self this season. He has still managed more goals than Bonne. He's better in defence, he links up better, he works harder. Bonne is a finisher who's lost the ability to finish.
They’re in the side to score goals, ultimately. And I’d fancy Bonne to score more than Stockley, I think.

    so RB/LB & possibly RM?

presumably we stick him LB and get sess to play natural RB

I know it's a radical idea but we can actually sign players to give us options and depth.

As of today we have 1 right back that can play left back and 1, what ever Clare actually is, that can play right back.

Kane and Edun would give us 4 full backs (assuming Egbo is out for most of the season), that isn't to much to ask is it?

If we had started the season with those full back options, the Ness and Leaburn of now and Bonne, we would be much nearer the play offs than relegation, so much so it might have been worth a punt on the 1 or 2 that would make a difference.
  • I don't give a flying fcuk what he said , I'd take that twat taylor back because he would benefit in progressing us , Bonne is shit and will leave us stale and floundering in league one ... the acceptance of our shitness by our lame support never surprises me ...
He is not good enough for where we should be aspiring to be ... mid table Championship is our historical par

I also think Taylor would help bring on Leaburn's game further as at times he lacks the git streak that Taylor did so well

  • Mentioned to my QPR supporting brother in law about Bonne and Kane and his response was ‘we should stay well clear, both bad characters’. So that’s good.

have to see how they do for us but both left QPR under a bit of a cloud.

No one is "accepting our shitness", we're potless with a shit owner and worse ones waiting in the wings, what do you expect us to do?

Our three areas of biggest need so would be happy if all true. One more striker on top would be very welcome.

i don't know what it is that bonne is supposed to have said to offend us and if its just that leonardo di caprio glass raising thing then people need to get over themselves - bonne had an eye for goal, had some mobility and some size but was raw - 3 years further league experience and i would see his signing as being decent - in fact it would double our current strikeforce options from 1 to 2 - stockley is knackered and can't play as a lone striker, chucks has to be treated as a bonus if he plays and nothing else and kanu doesn't look ready yet.
Don't forget that he also committed the crime of saying that when a Championship club came in to take him away from our basket case League One club that his head was turned. And then when our hilariously, tragically thin-skinned fans got upset about that he apologised for his phrasing. The bastard.

Bonne wouldn't keep us up in the championship no. But he definitely keeps us up in league one, which whilst it's not what we want, it might be exactly what we need until we have acceptable financial and commercial backing.

I take your point but to get to mid table Championship we need to get out of this league first and I would argue that Bonne improves the squad and so a step in the right direction.

I wouldn't take taylor back out of principle (actions speak louder than words and his actions damaged us to the benefit of himself)  and i wouldn't want bonne if i thought he was dogshit or if he had disrespected our club - which i can't see that he has - he is more use than stockley, aneke and kanu and thats called being practical with regards to where we are currently at as a club - nobody is happy with where we currently are but until one of us finds £100m down the back of the sofa, we gotta suck it up and look to improve with what appears to be limited resources.
