I was in The New Forest at the weekend and I heard a few Cuckoo's.  I was pretty excited by that as I haven't heard one in the UK for over 20 years! They have gotta be one of the coolest birds and an amazing example of animal instinct. Never meets its parents yet knows how to be a Cuckoo!
Shame you didn’t clock any, just heard them

Some sort of hooded crow, I’m guessing, in Türkiye.

Yes, that's a Hooded Crow. There's a lot of debate at the moment in the world of ornithology as to whether it's a different species to our Carrion Crow or just a different colour form. Whether it's a different species currently depends on which bird list you look at.

We heard 2 cuckoo in Hertfordshire this weekend.
Plus i had 2 swift boxes installed on my house. Apparently takes a few years for them to discover and use them but aive started to play calls out of my window so well see what happens!

It’s nowhere near the size of a carrion crow, or at least the one after my breakfast this morning wasn’t.
